Tell that to Mario Kart 8. 1080p 60fps baby!

Sorry about that, but not true: http://wiiudaily.com/2014/05/mario-kart-8-runs-at-720p-native-resolution/

Oh well. It's not like I bought a Wii U for that specifically. That's what PC is for.
Snesboy said: Console gaming easier than PC AMIRITE?! Seriously though, many PC games don't require 50gigs to install...more like 15. And that's pushing it. These devs are just too lazy to compress their files. |
You're going to get flamed by people now.
It is true and sadly they can easily get away with it, you can thank the fanboys

Don't question the naughty gods, just suck it.
Raziel123 said: people thinking this is going to be all that common? sigh tlou remastered is 50gb because it has at least 1 hour, maybe more, of pre-rendered cutscenes at 1080p/60fps that's probably 20gb or more right there games that don't use those will be smaller U4 supposedly won't have them, this being smaller |
If it's video then why is it required to install? You can play video stream off the disk just fine, if this is true then final fantasy 13 for example would be as big since that game had a lot of prerendered cutscenes and they were in 1080p / 60 with lossless audio too.

Very sorry, my mistake. Haven't realized you are talking about the PC version of Mario Kart.

TLOU cutscenes are supposed to look as close to gameplay as possible, a bit different than the usual FF CGI. But yeah it'll probably be huge that one, unless they ditch pre-rendered |
By what square Enix is doing lately, they might as well ditch the gameplay and keep the cutscenes because it would be hard for common folk to look at those cutscenes they worked so hard by being limited to getting over that crappy thing people call "gameplay"
FFXV Is going to suck let's be real here.

Well FFXIII did have a lot of Cutscenes and not a single mb of instalation.. Yeah love FF but i don't much faith in FFXV thanks to Square..

That was only because X360 used DVDs so developers had to accomodate them. I'd rather have more bytes at the same price. Increase in visual fidelity is noticeable. |
That's not true at all. How many multiplats had to have content cut from the 360 version because of size issues?
Anyway more bytes is not better. The average internet speed isn't very fast and greedy ISPs starting to cap data. I asked this question earlier; Has anyone tried to download a game of this size on an average internet connection? I imagine this would take a while. If developers can compress a game then they should do it, and I really hope 40+ GB doesn't become the norm.
