I don't understand?! What does the file size have to do with the collection of games? (I assume you're talking about disc collection)
Every game installs from disc in under one minute, it's completely painless to delete them from HDD when you're not using them. You can have hundreds of PS4 games on disc and still a 500GB HDD would be more than enough.
time for external hd support sony! oh yeah we get another stability update......yay............
im about out of space on the ps4 and buying physical or digital sucks this gen.

Please.. I am an entitled Gamer.. I don't wanna wait another 60 seconds when I want to replay a game after deleting it from the HDD.. thats 120 sec.. I can almost take a shit during that time... Whats next? they are going back to 2 discs if the game is too big and I have to get up to switch it.? Sony already wasted my time.. I cooked dinner while installing gt5..

No, they didn't bother because they are complete noobs at their jobs. The success they've had so far was based on hit and miss luck factor. They know nothing of compressing and decompressing files because it is a very hard task as everybody knows. Only ND is clueless about it somehow.

Well, when i think about it. This generation of having 500 GB is not really much a big deal then. While games are like 20-50 GB now, 500 GB is like a same direction of 32 GB for the Wii U. Atleast Wii U has HD games with little fire sizes like 1-3GB ish (estimates).
I say the perfect size for PS4 and XBOne would be like 1T and Wii U around 64-100GB
Although Wii U may be the smallest harddrive space compare to the two their file are smaller which are very surprising.

Uhm, no. Devs will often sacrifice compression for performance, and I doubt they will work more than necessary on optimizing that ratio when they reach the "can get away with it" limit of whether or not it fits on the BD 2-layer limits, and nowadays people hardly care about hard drive space and these games install in the background as you play anyway (especially not on a "remaster"). Take, for example, MGS4 which had uncompressed 7.1 audio giving its massive size for a PS3 game.

Nintendo games mostly are not Full HD assets games with complex world designs which needs a lot of space. |
Skyrim is a huge game with an open world. Release verieon was around 4 Gb, I think?

Not true. Maybe you missed Zekkyou's post but AC4 needs 30GB, Wolfenstein takes 50GB, CoD:Ghost 40GB, Watch Dogs 25GB. You can check steam yourself. A lot of the latest triple a games are huge on PC and unlike PS4, you've gotta wait for the entire download and first time setup to finish before you can start playing. Also, not sure why you bring up Zelda WiiU. We have no info on how big that game is. |
space doesnt matter on PC, harddrives are cheap and installing them is easy. and fuck wolfenstein, they realy fucked it up with some files.
and FUCK steam... they cap u at some times in the day. its not okay if it takes a a half day to download the game from steam if u can pirate it in 2 hours...
