Wii U beating Xbox One even after price drop! What happened to the 360 fans?

Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Wii U beating Xbox One even after price drop! What happened to the 360 fans?

I knew Gamemaster4747 when he was at 1up. He would create endless blogs like this. Funny thing is, he never owned a PS3. Said he couldn't afford one. I believe he even rejected an offer from somebody who wanted to give him one. He also has a thing for cinder blocks.

All I can say is that it's going to take years to undo the damage Don Mattrick did to the Xbox brand. And where is Yusuf Mehdi nowadays?

Around the Network

I thought in his introduction post he said he sold his consoles (including PS3) because of religion.

If the Wii wasnt a fad then why hasn't the Wii U sold? Its an upgraded Wii! That should be at least 10m for the first year right?? But no, Wii U sold 4m in 12 months. Abysmal sales compared to the Wii and it's competition.

Hey jlmurph2.

I think that the U's failure is really much more complex than that. To me, Nintendo's success has always been a decent balance between

1) Price

2) Games

3) Innovation

The U mostly failed at all 3 whereas the Wii nailed all 3 from the get-go. I think fad is incorrect to describe what happened from the Wii to the U and I think it's due to a misunderstanding between correlation and causation.

Pretty much what happened to the 3DS at first as well.

Well, there aren't that many 360 fans out there... I mean, compared to the ps2 that came right before it.

More precisely, when a new generation of consoles is upon us everyone re-evaluate their options and pick the most convenient choice, if you think loyalty is important in this for most people it's definitelt not... There are very few "MS" customers, like there are few real "Sony" or Nintendo customers, they're all up for grabs... Except for the fan boys, they remain loyal, they'll even make a point to hate the other consoles, even if they get them... They'll do things like buying the inferior versions of games on their favourite machine, because they want to convince themselves it's better on one degree or the other.
