Forums - Microsoft Discussion - If Microsoft made a game like Smash Bros, what characters/levels would be included?

I would have yet another hearty laugh.

It really wouldn't work. They just don't have the characters, and the characters they have don't mix well. Banjo vs Marcus Fenix wouldn't make for an epic game.

Well Sonys one had crazy different characters like that...

And surprisingly people didn't show up in droves to see a Big Daddy fight Parappa the Rapper.

I hope they do, so we can all make fun of them when the game fails.

Alright, changed the title to better get at what I'm trying to say. An example:

"Banjo and Kazooie might be playable characters since Microsoft owns Rare. It might even raise awareness for the series as a whole, just like how Marth did for Fire Emblem in Melee"

                                                                                                               You're Gonna Carry That Weight.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

A Viva Pinata level!

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

I think the reason people are not answering is because it is a very hard question. Honestly I think it would be nearly impossible to develop and many of the characters are ill suited to a smash styled game(unless you bring in a ton of third-party character). Considering the qualifications for a smash character, a lot of games would be out of the picture. I'll just list a few that may have a chance.

Dead Rising
Ryse
Killer Instinct
Banjo-Kazooie
Halo?
Scalebound?
Viva pinata?

The problem with many other games is that they don't have recognizable characters, some characters do not any unique abilities, or the characters just can't fight in general.

All in all it would just make for a bad game, just like everyone is saying.

There's also Gears of War, Fable, Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Kinect Sports Rivals (hey, Wii Fit trainer, so why not?), Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare, and tons more that aren't neccesarily exclusive but still have a big presence on Xbox.

I can see few characters :)

My favorite: Brutus (good old Brute Force)

Then: The MasterChief, Marcus, Banjo, Kameo, Cortana, a promethean, maybe this roman from Ryse (cannot remember his name), The Arbiter, maybe one or two guys from Killer Instinct, Conquer, Alan Wake, a big flood guy...

Obviously the guy from Sunset Overdrive would do too...

Really, just copy Marvel instead of Smash, Smash is really hard to get right and even if they did, they wouldn't be able to compete against the 4th iteration of Nintendo's Smash

Yeah, thoses too but I've not sure how well some of those characters would work. I've never played those games so I don't know if Gears of War characters have abilities other than shooting or does Kinect Sports Rivals have a defined character.
