Beta starts 17th July - http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/07/07/destiny-beta-begins-july-17th-calendar-revealed/

You’ve imagined yourselves in the boots of a Guardian, prowling the wild frontier in search of treasure and glory. The time for dreaming is almost over. The time to fight is at hand. The Destiny Beta is our chance to fill our brave new world with life and see how it holds up against the stampede.

Play when you can, but make sure you’re present to be counted on July 26th. Not only are we hoping to leave a high watermark for population on that day, we’ll also provide a special reward to those of you who make an appearance in the Tower… or in the frontiers beyond its walls.

just so its clear destiny is the 1st (that i know of) to have dlc come with exclusive dlc

Wow. At this point I almost believe that Sony paid like half of those 500 million^^

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I assume since this is a PS Blog post, that's why they want you to preorder on the PS Store, but the way it definitively says "preorder on the PS Store for beta access"......

You can pre-order it anywhere and get beta access, right?

Thank god for those 2 expansions, there clearly wasnt enough content in this game that hasent been released yet.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

You're saying that as a good thing right?

Nah, Im not a big DLC guy and find this to be really lame. Im sure Destiny has plenty to do. Its the type of thing that makes me wait on games like this til they hit $20 cause I aint spending more than $60 total on a game. I guess I will wait for GOTY or a price cut if it turns out good.

If I knew how to do all that posting magical stuff, I would have posted the big article from gamespot mentioning the x1 getting the beta for only four/five (depending on how you do days) days (july 23-27) instead of the touted only four day days later and much more information like the limited editions, etc...sure someone will post it soon

Thanks jlmurph!

I know this will never happen, but it would be awesome if there there are planets that only PS and XB players can visit respectively and make them their home bases. Then an event can be held once in a while where PS and XB players can try to attack and invade each other's planets and earn some ultra-rare loot. Bungie can release a bunch of stats afterwards and have rankings and leader boards for various categories. I think that would keep players playing for a long time and the console fanboys will get their wish to duke it out with each other in a shared game universe.
