Forums - Sales Discussion - Sony can't keep with PSVita demand

Am I the only one around here who remembers Vita doing something like 60k+ last month according to NPD? That would explain shortages, especially if sales are still increased.

Without actual numbers, this means nothing. Last charts they didn't even sell 4k units... And this doesn't mean that you can't find Vitas, I guess. The system will never ever get anywhere near PSP sales.

Because its hard to gauge such small demand. They don't want to make/ship too many and more importantly the retailers don't want to order too many.

People need to understand that manufacturers only ship what retailers order.

Vita is virtually dead in the west and the retailers are very wary.

OhMy! I think you are right!

Switch!!!

What a load of shit, Sony's talking crap. They're only fooling themselves saying stupid shit like this -.-

Hey now get that crap out of here.  Only things like "vita doomed" and "sony must have used them to wipe their asses" are allowed here.  It can't be possible that they're actually being sold.

Maybe they just diverted most of their supply to the EU countries where Slim got released in June? Cause here in my country i'm seeing more Vitas than I ever saw in its lifetime...

Lolll there's something you don't hear everyday... I agree with the posts above but I will also add that they are forcing low shipments to try to increase demand by making people talk about the dead and forgotten handheld

But oh well... Hopefully we will find out the actual reason soon enough

What is your toughs on why PSV is outsupplied?

They're in stock at all the stores around me (West Michigan).  Most of the boxes are even getting a bit dusty.
