Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why the Lack of Third Party Support May Be a Blessing

The blessing I see is the fact that it forces Nintendo to make more games, which we all know are usually good (Usually, not always)

Have there been more games so far? No, it's been less

Well it was certainly a blessing for the N64 and GC, wasn't it? And both of those consoles had stellar 3rd party support compared to the Wii U.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

3rd party wise sure. 1st party wise it's been pretty solid.

It hasn't been solid. Just last yeah Nintendo made excuses why they weren't releasing more games and it was because the underestimated HD development. This thread would maybe have a point if Nintendo first party was actually releasing more content than last gen. But it isn't. Nintendo pretty much stopped supporting the Wii in 2010 and what has that translated into for games for the Wii U? Not a lot really.

To lead the market you either need a good fad, or good third party.

You may be right. But looking at their upcoming games for the rest of this year and 2015 it looks good (1st party wise).

How does this thread vary from http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=185791

But what i agree on and what the past proved : Nintendo offers the best of Nintendo when they dont dominate the market.

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

this one is about pageviews.

The article is nothing more than spin. Tell yourself something long enough doesn't mean it will be true. A "unique" library and third party support aren't mutually exclusive. You just miss out on a ton of games one way.
