Forums - Nintendo Discussion - If You're Over 30 And You Still Love Nintendo, You're Weird

We want a few mad people now. See where the sane ones have landed us!

If we are weird enough someday everyone will understand how great being weird is.

I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?

I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.

I'm feeling maturer thinking more creative games are better than utter violence, even though from time to time it feels good to play those as well.

Nintendo games didn't grow with the Nintendo Fans, they even got more and more childish. Super Mario Bros. and Zelda on the NES and SNES could be enjoyed by players of any age, while it really feels weird to play Super Mario 3D World or Wind Waker (or 3D Land and Link between Worlds) as a grown up player. These games are directly targeted for small Kids and not for everyone anymore, unfortunately and they are not fun to play for older gamers. Same with Smash brothers and Pokemon.

Nintendo needs to care about grown up fans in the 30s much more and make games that can be enjoyed by older players again.

Consider me weird in a couple or so years. Hate being boring and normal anyway.

Hooray! I am still not weird according to some random guy I haven't seen in my life!

That's why you need the best of both worlds .

What a stupid, offensive, arrogant title for an article. So every decent parent in the world is weird? Or should we play Call of Duty with our kids? Are we weird if we enjoy Disney too?

Let me guess, they are Mr.Cool. Some advice for them would be to drop the childish attitude or you'll find it difficult to ever get married and good luck to their prospective children. Their father will be bundles of fun. Christmas will be "Santa....pfff come kill some deer with me instead"..... Halloween: "Costumes? Don't be a wuss lets' kill some deer", "Video games, pfff kill some deer".

Here's how I see it. Computer games will only gain respect when you can see the following vision coming true. "Couple X can't wait to visit couple Y to play video games after the kids are in bed". And in reality, this will never happen with Call of Duty and violent nonsense. It is ONLY possible with Nintendo style games like Mario Kart 8. Local 4 player games that are real Fun. Only then will video gamers no longer be ranked as losers, loners and general wasters.

I'm 20, and my dad and little brother chastised me yesterday for not playing a "shooter" game. I rebuttled that my maturity doesn't depend on the media I consume...

Granted, it didn't help my case that I was racing in a candy course with a pink mushroom girl in a caterpillar car.....

This gave me a good chuckle.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."
