Looks like you don't know any fans.
Winning is nice but losing is when it's getting really interesting. Slander for the opposing team cranks up, accusations of cheating, excuses are through the roof. Fandom lives and breaths both victories and losses. That's what fandom is about.
Fandom (consisting of fan [fanatic] plus the suffix -dom, as in kingdom) is a term used to refer to a subculture composed of fans characterized by a feeling of sympathy and camaraderie with others who share a common interest. Fans typically are interested in even minor details of the object(s) of their fandom and spend a significant portion of their time and energy involved with their interest, often as a part of a social network with particular practices (a fandom); this is what differentiates "fannish" (fandom-affiliated) fans from those with only a casual interest.
All fandoms are the same and are practiced the same. There is no difference in a sports fan or a gaming console fan.
So when the OP starts slandering console fans he also slanders every other fandom which behaves the same. Which is extremely ironic because I'm sure that he is ta least a fan himself of a few things and behaves irrationally because of that.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
