Who will come out on top in the Call of Duty 2014 Battle?  Xbox or Playstation?

Will Xbox continue it’s previous reign in the CoD franchise?  Or has the tide turned to Playstation’s favor?

Sony currently has the advantage in install base. However, it remains to be seen how the $399.99 price tag will affect NA sales where the bulk of CoD sales come from. Plus there’s also the number of players that will stay on last gen or upgrade their systems with a possible jump ship to either side.

Below are the combined sales of the last iteration (CoD:Ghosts) for each manufacturer. As you can see, the numbers of players on either side has never been closer. Each week, the overall Playstation player count is catching up and should match the Xbox player count in a few months.

Thoughts?  Predictions?   Who’s your pick for the next CoD battle?

playstaytion, the user base disparity will be far more lop sided by then.

ps3 is out selling 360 and ps4 is outselling the bone.

Of course the adaption rate will always be with xbox.

I believe Xbox will come out on top because the majority of the sales come from NA and I'm sure Xbox will close the gap or even surpassed ps4 by november. Microsoft also have advertisement advantage on their hand. That said, the gap between the two will be much closer than it was last gen.

I thought the difference was bigger then 0.2M... If those numbers are true, there is no chance cod will sell more on xbox next year... Next gen software is selling more on ps and last year there wasn't a 3.5-5 million difference between ps4 and xbone. Again, only 0.2M difference between cod on xbox and ps doesn't seem right, though

The PS4 will come out on top. I don't think any amount of DLC moneyhatting will slow down PS4 sales. If MS wants to keep their COD crown they will need to do something very drastic like moneyhat the next COD to be a timed exclusive.

PS by a mile, nothing ms is doing or is rumored to will bring it back to pass PS4 by the end of the year or ever for that matter. Thus a clear and outright cod PS win.

People really think that the only reason that the PS4 is selling better than the XB1 in NA is due to price.

I believe that all multiplatform games will sell better on PS4, with over 3M console gap which will continue to widen.
X360 will certainly outsell PS3, but it seems that gamers are abandoning last-gen versions of cross-gen faster than expected, so it will not help much.
Shooters will probably have the smallest sales gap between two systems, but all other genres will be at least 2:1 in favor of PS4.

This is pretty much where I stand as well. The only wild card for me is if MS will do a CoD bundle this holiday season. They usually have one every year but decided against one last year which was a mistake imo. Those bundles give pretty sizable spikes in sales.

Well, We'll find out on June NPD, until then, yes i do believe ps4 is selling  better due to price.
