The more you release subsequent itterations of your franchise on a console, the more you grow its audience. Activision understands this. I can't figure out why nobody else can.

It took Namco Bandai quite some time to figure this out.  Instead it was about releasing Tales games in the US, not on a specific system.

I'd argue that they still didn't figure it out yet.

Hideo Baba said it himself that the Symphonia series was their most successful series ever in the West:

And yet Namco refuses to release this series on Nintendo systems, despite how much more successful it sells here in the West.

Could also be that Activision just wants to keep their relationship with Nintendo good for things like Skylanders.  Dunno why they have to make it a secret each year though.

Sony or Microsoft have to be paying them off. It's the only explanation for burying its existence as opposed to merely announcing its existence in the fine print (oh, yeah, there'll be a Wii U version too i guess).

Yeah sure, as if MS or Sony would waste money on that. The Wii U version is absolutely no threat to their sales.

Why do people always assume this franchise won't hit the Wii U? This is the second time people have assumed COD won't release on the Wii U for unknown reasons.

That's funny cause CoD has been selling less and less with every subsequent iteration on a Nintendo console.

.... But COD:Ghosts had sold much less on every console compared to it's previous entrees.

Franchises have to be on all platforms even if they don't make a dime. It is about perception and also about keeping those dollars from going somewhere else that then ends up working against them later.

The Wii U version nor similar ports don't need to earn a dime. They spend hundreds of millions just on marketing. Even if all the Wii U version earned was $12 million it is $12 worth of good will, marketing and $12 million a competitor doesn't get.

But that decline didn't start with Cod: Ghosts

Umm, Nintendo systems got five tales games last generation, including a Symphonia.  That one didn't sell particularly well in the west, and in general they sold better on Playstation platforms.  Better question is why the PS3 got snubbed for so long when the ports of Vesperia and Graces managed to outsell the originals in Japan.

Then you explain why Activision acts like the game doesn't exist at all? Why confuse people for no reason?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I don't know. Whatever it is, Sony or MS are not paying Activision to keep the Wii U version a secret, that's a completely ridiculous conspiracy theory, they have nothing to gain from that.

I guess activation hasn't given up yet! I think 2014 will be the break or make for the wiiU cause if all these games from Nintendo aren't enough to sell the console, I don't think anything will. And of course I mean to 20 million

I think a great deal of people are tired of the franchise now. Funnily enough I predicted elsewhere that this generation would see the end of the franchise. Having one released every year is a bit much.

It's only a matter of time before the same thing happens with Assassin's Creed too.
