Bear in mind that here in Argentina Maradona is considered a complete idiot and a very unpleasant person. Sure, he rocked at football, but he sucks as a human being, so don't pay attention to that waste of a man. On the other hand, the fans you mentioned... Well, let's just say that the most idiotic fans are the loudest as far as I can tell. Besides, if Germany had beatten us 7-1 and not Brazil, Brazilian fans would probably react the same. Sure, my country is full of a**holes, but so does all the others.

Really? All I ever hear is how much of a legend they think he is and how Messi will never be as loved as Maradona.

You're probably listening to the wrong people.

Sure, we do acknowledge the fact that he was without a doubt an outstanding football player, that is why some fans talk highly about him when discussing football, but the truth is that we all know that as a person he is really despised. His attitude in general is terrible and he seems to be full of himself, from time to time he gets back in the media due to his sharp tongue and attitude. That's the one and only truth. In football terms, he's great; in everything else... He's not so great.

Quick edit: Messi, on the other hand, is considered a really humble person and an amazing football player. I think I've never heard ANYONE bash Messi in any way.

- Wearing orange (check)
- Grolsch ready (check)
- Nederland to kick some Argentine ass (check)

Go Oranje!

What a final awaits :D
Shame it's on a Sunday, would be perfect if the matches were on Friday and Saturday...

Yesterday's game set a new record for German television.

32.57m viewers in Germany (87.8% market share)
11.52m viewers in England (51.0% market share)

So almost a half of Germany was watching? Wow, that's incredible viewing figures. Other channels must hate it when the world cup is on

Considering that a lot of people were watching together with others we can assume that it was more than half of Germany.
And yes, Germany is a football country. We're at least as passionate about it as Brazil or England. A German team playing, be it a friendly or a WC final is generally a national event.

I dont know anyone who did not watch the game. I would assume that more than 50% of the population saw the game, which would be 40+ million.

Netherlands 0-0 Argentina. Argentina on penalties.

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

Meh, I'm far behind in points, and sincerely I don't mind any of them winning. I'd like more Germany or Argentina, but I do feel like Netherlands deserves to hold at least one championship.

De Jong is starting, R.I.P Messi, due to his length he'll probably receive something like the following picture right in his face.

Robben VS Messi might not be as epic and ridiculous as Robben VS Muller, but it works well enough!
