Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why does Pokemon get away with yearly releases while the others dont?

Tagged games:

So Pokemon has obviously turned into a annual franchise:

Platinum - 2009
Heart Gold/ Soul Silver - 2010
Black/ White - 2011
Black/ White 2 - 2012
X/Y - 2013
Omega Ruby/ Alpha Saphire - This Year (2014)

So since CoD, AC and co. get a lot of flack for getting a release every year and there were some threads recently bashing on Halo for that as well, why does pokemon get away with it. I mean it's not like they do it any differently than CoD, they put more or less the same game out every year (a handful of new pokemons and a different map and that's it).
Any other publisher that does this is "milking" their Franchises, so why doesn't the same count for Pokemon?

Technically, Call Of Duty gets away with yearly releases as well, despite the internet spitting on that franchise, it sells well everytime.

Because Nintendo fans say so.

Because Pokemon is quality.

I've said it before but Pokemon is Nintendo's Madden. New games are about increasing the roster more than anything. That's why I'm always a bit puzzled when some Nintendo fans attack the yearly sports titles.

Because Pokemon has Pikachu is in it! That's why Pokemon gets away with it!

Yes but what i find strange is that the internet doesn't shit on pokemon for the same thing, instead it seems to celebrate every pokemon. Why?

I agree, it's a damn shame that Nintendo always gets a free pass and is never accused of milking and rehashing.

Well thats, that. Nothing left we can say now.

And the others are bad games or what?

Because Activision are money hungry, capitalist assholes, while Nintendo are the saints of the gaming industry.
