Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why does Pokemon get away with yearly releases while the others dont?

Tagged games:

Quality.

Pokemon games are great. I've played them so I would know.

COD, AC etc are not great. I haven't played them but I (magically) still know.

Because Pokemon has Pikachu is in it! That's why Pokemon gets away with it!

That's actually good enough for me.  The world needs more Pikachu.

I've said it before but Pokemon is Nintendo's Madden. New games are about increasing the roster more than anything. That's why I'm always a bit puzzled when some Nintendo fans attack the yearly sports titles.

@Pokémaniacs: Beat this guy down. Hard.

The ass kicking is coming

Also, Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed.

This so much this, it woulnd't surprise me if nintendo started a DLC like that allstars team (or whatever it is called) in Fifa where you can buy pokemon (packs) to build your team.

Because Pokemon is quality.

And the others are bad games or what?

Your entire argument you're making is predicated on nintendo fans bashing those games. Not all Nintendo fans are bashing them, some are yes, but that's the internet. And like Rol said, it's not like they don't get attacked for it. I've seen plenty of people online dump on Nintendo for yearly Pokemon. For Mario, etc.

Never said those games are bad. I've bought every NHL game from EA since 08 and I've bought every Pokemon game since its inception. I'm not complaining. As soon as the quality goes down for Pokemon, I'll complain. X and Y were amazing to me, and I look forward to my gen 3 remakes.

While the intent of the thread is not, perhaps, actually baiting, the leading question as well as accusatory underlying assumptions do not bode well.

Bye!

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I hate you.

OT: I haven't seen enough obligatory, "They don't, lol" statements yet. I'm extremely disappointed.

Because Pokemon sells for $35. Not $70.

Because Pokemon actually works without constant patches.

Because Pokemon only comes on one system.

Because Pokemon is Pokemon.

Because.
