I'm a David Lynch man...
I'd recommend Blue Velvet, Elephant Man, Wild at Heart, Mulholland Drive, The Straight Story (inland empire was kinda 'huh' even by lynch standards and lost highway was boring)...oh and Eraserhead is amusing.

But steer clear of DUNE.





Honestly though I'd recommend all Studio Ghibli films.

i aprove this thread cause lately i have seen realy shit movies, by far the most shit was the US version of OLDBOY ( omfg it was a crime what they did with the movie ;S )

I agree with kljesta on The Host. A rare monster movie with subtext and a heart.

Boon Joon-ho's most recent movie, Snowpiercer, is coming to the States next month. Very interested in that.

I already watched that movie it was good I think I gave it a 7/10 in Movie & TV Chat thread.. but I wont spoil anything the less you know the better.

All this Kurosawa and no mention of Rashomon?

Also, for Vietnam War era movies...FMJ is so much better than Apocalypse Now and Platoon that it's crazy.
