sony had a second party agreement with from software for demon's souls. sony owned the IP and probably came up with the core ideas but fromSoftware did the coding.

after demon's souls released fromSoftware "went rouge" and took the same ideas but created a "new ip" called dark souls which is fully third party and multiplat. it was almost the same game but not under sony's ip. a rip-off really. a really good rip-off but a rip-off none-the-less.

looks like fromSoftware is reteaming up with sony here. the main point though is fromSoftware did demon's souls, darks souls, darks souls 2, and now this. even if it is 3 different IPs they are all very much a love letter to the same audience and fans from the same people we've come to love and trust.

Pity that this was leaked early, imagine if Sony surprised everyone with this during their conference, this would've single handidly won them E3, at least on the internet. The Internet loves the Souls games.
