You guys think that Smash Bros sales will boost Wii U above Xbox One and PS4 on a weekly basis but there is almost a zero chance of that happening.

Please point out and comment source all posters that have claimed this, I'm curious as to which posters you're refering to. If it's just one or two posters, it might make more sense to deal with your ire in private chat.

Regardless, it's hard to take your OP seriously when you open with a comment like that. Perhaps that might explain some of the responses you're getting here.

It's toastboy, cut him some slack.

thanks dawg slice

Umm... yes?

Barely. For the people who were interested in getting a Wii U only for Smash Bros but already own a 3DS, by releasing the 3DS version earlier, Nintendo is pushing that Wii U sale further back until some other game comes out that interests us. Although while I'm no longer getting a Wii U when Super Smash Bros comes out, I'll still get Super Smash Bros when I eventually get a Wii U.

Probably 99% of Wii U owners own a 3DS and will want to get the better version first rather than buying the Wii U version later on .......

The 3DS version will be more favored because more people own a 3DS; people can play with more of their friends......... All my opinion of course, what do you think?

Silly arguement, that's like saying no one's going to buy Mario Kart 8 because Mario Kart 7 is available for 3DS.

When I play with my Wii, it's usually with people who don't normally play video games. I don't play Mario Party or Mario Kart for handhelds because I think the game is stupid when everyone has their own screen. These types of games are best played with 1 TV, a pizza and beers and with everyone yelling at the TV.

It's just no fun looking over someone elses shoulder to see the game......

------

With that said, I'm buying Smash Bros for WiiU and not 3DS. The 3DS version looks silly and like I said before I don't buy multiplayer games on what I consider a single player machine.

I also want to point out that until Smash Bros/Metroid Prime 3 released, I had no interest in a Wii. Those two games are the games that made me get a Wii in the first place. Smash Bros will boost WiiU sales, simple as that.

As for predictions, 7 million for the WiiU (just like Melee) and 8-10 million for the 3DS. It will sell better on the 3DS only because the 3DS is a more successful console.

Even Pikmin boosted the Wii U by 10k, Smash could do 100k even if It's also on 3DS.

3DS the better version?

Lol... The reaching has gone beyond the point of ridiculousness

It will boost a bit, but not alot. Probably go back to normal sales after 4 or 5 weeks.

Also 2.5 million for the Wii U version and 4 million for the 3DS version seems to be likely. Maybe 5 mil for the 3DS.

nice

Better version suddenly means worse graphics and worse online, so he is probably right!

Seems likely, until you actually look at how much previous installments have sold and how similarly selling games are performing on 3DS. Then it becomes impossible.

If "winter" means "holidays" than yes it will.
