Hyping a game and annoucning sales figures is a way different thing. I don't even know why you would compare it like that.

They're the same thing. I don't know why you'd think they're not.

Yes because it isn't like EA has earning reports or anything. Microsoft has no ties to the game other than money paid to EA for exlcusive rights. Other than that Respawn made it and EA published it.

Since the XBOne been launched, M$ has made it a big thing to announce each and every milestone that a XB1 game, system has made. PERIOD................... To be this quiet weeks after their biggest XB1 release of the generation, even after they along with the web who went bonkers prior, is scary..... SCARY.

Its not like them. Something is brewing.
But if you look at VGChartz numbers for the last 4 weeks or so,
- inFAMOUS SS sold better 2 out of the 4 weeks
- PS4 was the top selling console 3 out of the last 4 weeks.
Now this is all with a priced cut XBOne, Titanfall Bundled in with the console and various marked down bundle + Game combos....................

Obviously because the game bombed! ( not really) Also, what the hell is up with the poll?!

Announcing sales figures can be a form of hype, sure, but I can't recall a platform holder ever announcing the sales of a third party game. Not to say that it's never happened, but it sure doesn't happen often. The closest thing that comes to mind is bragging about COD on 360 outselling the PS3 version 2:1 in response to NPD or something like that.

it asks a serious and very important question.

Not true. Capcom, not Microsoft, announced Dead Rising 3 1 million shipped.

People were going to criticise TitanFall no matter what happened.  Just look at the hypocrisy with metacritic and launch sales. Not only that but most games do not announce their numbers for a long time and as it has been said over and over, MSFT has no rights to announce, it is up to EA.  Logically it would be best for them to bunch all numbers together including X360.

You want your comparisons here you go.  Beyond that this whole debate is redundant.  I believe TitanFall has the most threads in VGC history by this point.

Probably because they want to announce total sales once the 360 does a little damage.

You're confusing press releases with sales numbers (Public Relations) with earnings reports (Investor Relations). This thread is only about the first one.

Even though EA published it, Microsoft is de facto in control of the game and has the most to gain/lose from a release of numbers.
