Naughty Dog “brainstorming” The Last Of Us 2, movie to adapt game story

Naughty Dog‘s Neil Druckmann has said the studio is “brainstorming some stuff” for The Last Of Us 2,although he admits there’s nothing definite yet. He’s also talked about the The Last Of Us movie saying its a straight adaptation of the original story.

Speaking about a potential sequel in The Last Of Us 2 Druckmann said “We don’t know yet,” adding that Naughty Dog was “still trying to figure it out. We’re brainstorming some stuff, so we’ll see where that goes”. It mirrors previous statements that the studio was considering a follow up but had yet to commit.

As far as the recently annoucned The Last Of Us movie goes Druckmann said “it’s an adaptation of the story of The Last of Us”. But while it’s a conversion of the original plot he added “As far as where we go and how we make it fit into a film, how it takes into account the unique properties of film? We’re not sure yet. We’re only just scratching the surface.” Druckman will be writing the screenplay and the movie is to be produced by Sam Raimi.

The Uncharted team is working on the game almost after Drake's deception launched. If 4 releases this year, they should be able to get going with a new ip, hopefully.

Druckmann will write the movie? Could we be witness to the first good VG movie?

The only thing I want from Naughty Dog right now is Savage Starlight.
Not Uncharted, Not Last of Us. I want Savage Starlight. The only game that came close to that was Mass Effect and EA ruined it in the last game.

Good, the story in the game deserves a chance at reaching a wider audience. It's good enough to be a story that can carry a movie, it's now all in the execution. Just don't throw too big a budget at it. Buena Vista erred with Prince of Persia, it did very well at the box office but made almost no money because of the huge production budget.

Uncharted 4 should be the end of the series and UC team move on to a new IP. I just hope they find a talent as good as Amy Hennig for the new IP.

That is a game many fans want and that's why Sony won't do it.

They are taking their time, aren't they? Just get to the fucking development already! (I actually hope that is all smoke and mirrors and TLoU 2 is in pre-production for half a year already )
