Forums - Microsoft Discussion - So What Happens After Titanfall

Um, what else do we need?

Around the Network

it should but MS needs games to come out for more sales, and i dont see titanfall sustaining sales after 2nd week and even less so after the 360 version comes out.  There really isnt another game that is a system seller for them, Quantum Break probably is delayed, Sunset overdrive is definatly not going to be everyones cup of tea and i doubt is a system seller, Forza isnt a system seller and im not sure how much a Halo 2 remake will sell systems.

According to some it is enough. It should drive sales well into april. Sunset Overdrive could be quite dcent, maybe even really good. Quantum break is hit or miss.

Other than that there's still 3rd parties. But it's summer anyway and publishers only release games in summer that got delayed.

See that's what I'm wondering. I doubt it'll drive sales for more than 3 weeks let alone more than a month. There just isn't anything that will move more X1 and nothing that will get any buzz. Multiplats games get all the attention on PS4 since that's where they're best and I can see Sony finally starting to release more games (InFamous in March, MLB in May, Driveclub in Summer, The Order in Sept, and maybe Uncharted in Nov), not to mention a ton of indie games to fill in the gaps.

MS needs to do something because, imo, it seems the only reason anyone even mentions the X1 nowadays is Titanfall (as well as it's power dificiencies and PR blunders) and that's out in two days. They won't be able to ride it's hype train anymore.

MS has still a great potential in all the Xbox fans that haven't bought yet because they are waiting for specific games. You shouldn't forget that a lot of people wh haven't bought yet already made up their minds. So even 3rd party games can push the X1 for Xbox fans who were waiting for them.

We shouldn't judge the success of any console between march and E3. There is still potential to be tapped and X1 has all the cards.

What cards would that be? I doubt there's that many people waiting for QB or SO (outside of hardcore gamers were going ot get one anyways). Another Forza won't do much, as one already came out. Halo is only big mainstream game MS has left, and that might be 2015 at the earliest. Gears isn't coming till 2016.

QB is going to be great, SO has potential, but we've seen pretty much nothing of each, and I wouldn't be surprsed if QB ends up in 2015 (I'm more confident SO will make it this year for some reason)

Also, consider that I'm asking this in terms of getting more people to buy X1. Obviously, Titanfall will keep current owners happy for a while but that isn't the question.

Quantam Break?

I still believe that got pushed back to 2015. Everything seems to point to that even If MS said it'd be this year, but who knows. It might actaully come, so long as Remedy isn't rushed to get it out.

Everything said about it is 2014, no idea where you got the idea it's 2015.

Well according to the leaker who leaked about the titanfall console sunset and break launch this year. Plus he said that halo 2 has its multi in take which will be huge so I wouldn't compare h2a with haloanv

Just wait for E3. Until then MS will be able to keep the buzz alive a bit with their GDC announcement.

MS can pull out of a big deck. Pricecut, more bought IPs, other exclusivity deals, some unannounced 1st party IPs, new features integrating cable and other internet services, some kinect killer app.

Not that any of that will happen but it is in the realm of the possible.

What I'm basically saying is that MS is at rock bottom and it can only get better while PS4 can't soar much higher than it already is.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I think games is the least MS fans should worry about. Good 3rd party support, good exclusives ahead... Well, seems like "good" is too subjective and games can always be looked at in a negative way.

In terms of system sellers? Nothing until the Halo 2 remake. I think the new Kinect Sports will fail for the same reason Wii Fit U failed. Casuals aren't too interested in Kinect anymore. Sunset Overdrive looks really cool but I doubt it's going to be a big seller. Jury's still out on Quantum Break, who knows how that will do?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Honestly only Nintendo has super big system selling exclusives coming out this year. Though I am really looking forward to sunset overdrive, D4 and quantum break.

“PS4 is where the exclusives are“

sry but right now I don't see many exclusives for both consoles, not sure how most see PS4 with so many exclusives. A game like Driveclub only increases the library of 2014 because of a delay so that it only fills the gap PS4 has right now if we talk about racing games and the few other exclusiv games like The Order aren't much more as the few exclusive Xbox One games.

And for most Indie games I could use a damn old PC.

It's pretty much the reason why I still don't own a new console, both have not much except for PC port Nr. 50 like Outlast or cross gen game N. 20 like Battlefield.
