It could be possible although 48 seems like a stretch... I say 40 at max

I'll put money on getting more then 40 characters.  Why does this rumor get its own topic?  There are soooo many rumors out there.

Which 4 characters are going to be cut? Easy: Lucas ( I don't think there is a reason for him to be in Smash Bros 4.. Sorry...), Snake ( We are already getting Sonic and Mega Man and maybe a Namco character..), R.O.B ( The same reason as lucas.. Besides, we already  got the Wii Fit Trainer as an unexpected character), Pokemon Trainer ( No particular reason. I just don't think he will appear in the game)

Not really (First off let me say i believe it will be 42 characters), in SSBB there were 35 characters (techniqually 39). We kno the character roster aint gonna jump huge like every SSB game did before. Now we have 24 characters

5= New Comers        19= Veterans

Also its semi confirmed ZSS is back in (Samus using FS and all). Sheik is unknown?

24 characters with no close release date yet? You kno there will be hidden characters in game (even if there are a couple announced that will be an unlockable character!) So lets say by E3 another 5 characters gets revealed (newcomers+veterans) which means about once a month a reveal, that will be 29 characters. That right there looks like it'll be higher than 40 total. 

If it was no more than 40 than we are getting way too many reveals thus far!!!

your right, i seen many but i never post them for obvious reasons, difference with this one (i was considering not to but it hit me) was this one in particular is being talked about by over 5 forums and is getting alot of attention. I dunno who the leaker is though, maybe somebody else here does???

Agreed. There are far too many rumours regarding the roster of Smash 4, I don't see the point of drawing any attention to this. It's fun to speculate and hope for certain characters in the roster, but these kinds of rumours mean far too little to warrant discussion.

Oh yeah, for the fun of it, if there were 4 cuts, i personally think it would be (pls be noted these arent wat i want, but who i expect...

Snake: (tbh, i think he's the only who should be cut)
Pokemon Trainer (3 character slots, it can be used for others imo)
Wolf (Nooooo one of my favorite's)
Ike (My favorite FE character in FE franchise :(

If I had to make 4 cuts now? Snake, Ike, Lucas (that one hurts me) and Shiek. Impa would be a newcomer that would absorb the Shiek moveset.

Too many 3rd and 4th tier characters to cut, can't decide.
