To clear up any confusion, here are the rules that VGChartz has for the topic of flaming:

Insults and flaming. Attacking other users for any reason is never acceptable.

• Do not insult someone's religion, race, sex, sexuality, nationality, political beliefs, or gaming preferences. Debate is encouraged, as is civil disagreement, but respect the beliefs and opinions of others.
• Similarly, do not insult without justification any group of people, be it a religious group, political group, or anything of that sort.
• Don’t use slurs (gay, f*ggot, n*gger, etc) as insults, even if you’re not using them maliciously.
• Do not personally insult other users. This includes calling them fanboys or trolls.
• Report it when another user insults you instead of insulting them back. If they report you and no one reported their post, guess which one of you gets banned? The moderators do not have time to read every post in a thread, so they will often miss things that are not reported.
• In general try to treat other users with respect and courtesy. We understand debates get heated, but don’t lose yourself in them. Remember you can’t continue the debate if you’re banned, so be respectful to your fellow forum members.

All the rules we enforce are available to all of our members. So it's always a positive to take a look and understand how the mod team works. Ignorance is not an excuse at this point, so remember that knowledge is power!

If an old post of mine gets reported in which I used the word, would it slide or would I get banned?  And when I say old post, I mean it's at least several months old if not a year or more.

If you thought you made a bad judge or attacked someone in a post you know you could always edit it now? I mean... I definately am not suggesting people insult a user then edit it later and hope to avoid moderator because that would be cowardly and I'm rather sure not work since it appears the post you report gets sent to a mod along with your reason for reporting it.

But yeah, would say if you're worried about having come off as an asshole before go and edit that post, never know when someone might be readin through old threads or one gets necro'd and people think you're a bit of a jerk from reading a year old comment you made.

Seems the only time in the last 90 days you've had that word in a post on this site was in this very thread :D I think you can be confident enough that if it has gone several months you most likely have survived, remember only posts which get reported will likely get moderated on here, there are only 12-15 mods and there are close to 100 threads made every day here, 1000s of posts so there is no way they could actively read through every post made.

Oh, how did you find it?  Google?  A search system on here?  

I tried using the search thing on here but it pretty much doesn't work and for what it does work it doesn't actually search beyond 90 days, going to google and doing a specific search for your name, his name, this site and the word you used got it. Imma remove the link from my post tho feel free to take it from your quote to hide your shame ^^'
