The PS4's power seems...

Better, but not THAT much better anymore... 241 15.42%

Are you crazy?! The PS4 is GOD! 349 22.33%

The Wii U is clearly unde... 741 47.41%

The PS4 is selling better... 36 2.30%

I think I'll be buying a... 191 12.22%

Total:1,558

The disparity still pretty big, the thing is the Wii U's power is just better than last gen when you make the games for Nintendos hardware. bayonetta is a beautiful game. The art style is sick.

Also, Infamous SS and Uncharted 4 could look so much better than they do/ ever will on PS4, if they were on PC.

the most powerful gpu is 4.5 Tflops, about 2.5x more powerful then ps4, yes it will be better then the ps4 version but the difference is way smaller then ps4 to wiiu where its 10x more powerful.

Remember, on PC it will also run is resolutions and at framerates the PS4 could only dream of. And at the rate PC development is going, they'll be more than 10x more powerful than PS4 before long. Also, I'm curious, where does the 10x more powerful figure come from exactly? Sounds kind of random. Or is that a scientific fact?

The fact that it probably has less than 200 Gflops ?

I get that, yes, however let's be honest - one specific part of a machine being a determined amount (say, 10) times better/higher than one specific part of another machine hardly amounts to the entire machine being 10 times better as a whole. If that were true, I could claim PS4 was in fact 4x more powerful than Wii U because it has 8GB of RAM compared to Wii U's 2GB.

I think most would see the logic in this point and agree. Now if every (relevant) aspect was indeed 10x better, then yes, I'd definitely agree the machine as a whole was 10x better.

That's not the case. It's just not. Mind you, I'm not saying PS4 is much more powerful than Wii U, obviously.

The term "power" is defined by the amount of floating point operations it can pull off in general ... Other relevant metrics in rendering include fillrates and bandwidth. The amount of video memory does not measure the power of a system but rather it only factors into bottlenecks.

Not every technical aspect has to be a factor of 10x better but just the relevant ones providing that there is no bottlenecks. It is the summing up of these relevant aspects that will determine whether or not the system is 10x better.

Actually the PS4 COULD very well be 10x faster than the WII U. The pixel fillrate on the PS4 is probably around 6x faster than the WII U. Don't even get me started on the texel fillrates and the bandwidth. Oh and the GCN achitecture in the PS4 is 30% more efficient than the VLIW5 architecture for the WII U.

Yeah lets wait until we actually see some PS4 games that use the system fully ... I recall a lot of "Haha, Perfect Dark Zero doesn't look that much better than Resident Evil 4!" early in the generation last time.

I wanna see what Naughty Dog and Rockstar and Sony Santa Monica can do with it.

But until they do....remember we just had to wait until the end of the PS3's lifecycle to get gtav and tlou. Will the same happen on PS4?

PS4 is much easier to program for than PS3 so it won't see the same massive improvement in graphics.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=136756 a dev also confirmed those specs.

Wii U specs have not been confirmed by devs (who are under NDA) and are more speculations than specifications.

My point remains; he specifically said PS4 is 10x more powerful than PS4, which in all honesty was just some arbitrary number he deemed convenient. There are far too many variables and ways one could look at things and compare specifications to come to that conclusion. PS4 could be 10x more powerful than Wii U. In some ways, it could maybe be 15x more powerful. In others, perhaps only 3 times more; depends what you're looking at and which aspects you're comparing. Point is, it was a random arbitrary number he sort of pulled out of nowhere, while simply saying 'PS4 is much more powerful than Wii U' would have sufficed, people shouldn't treat personal opinions as fact.

And again, yes, PS4 is much more powerful than Wii U. Yes. It is, no one's saying otherwise. But exactly how much, neither me, you, nor starworld know.

Even though nintendo hasn't disclosed the specs I'm pretty sure a 120 watt GPU with a manufacturing process node of 28 nm will instantly crush 25 watt GPU at a manufacturing process node of 40 nm which is fair to deduce that the PS4 is almost likely 10x more powerful.

Sony really markets their stuff well, people are buying into all kinds of exaggerated numbers, haha...

According to raw, theoretical peak numbers, the PS4's GPU is about 4.5 times more powerful than the PS3's GPU, while the CPU is clearly weaker by a large margin (especially when you bring the 8-core's total performance down to just 6 cores for games). As Sony stated, they TARGETED 10 times more powerful than the PS3 (they have not confirmed that it IS 10 times more powerful), but clearly missed this by a decent margin.

And I don't know why people continue to run around with some

And I don't know why people continue to run around with some <200 GFLOPS number for the Wii U when the system is quite obviously, at this point, more powerful than the PS3/XBox360, both of which have GPUs that do well over 200 GFLOPS...

Lastly, I don't know why people keep saying Infamous SS looks that great. The trailer that starts in the tunnel and has closeups on faces clearly show polygonal edges and some less than ideal textures here and there. It looks "good", but not "great".

..."B-b-but it's open world!"...

you have no idea of what your talking about when it comes to specs. PS3 and 360 might have over 200 gflops, but the WiiU are more effeciant, and lets not forget it has the double the ram which was a probably the biggest problem for developers on last gen consoles.
