I was sitting at work yesterday and thinking about "games of the generation," past, present, and future. So I got to thinking about what my "game of the generation" might be five years from now when the 8th gen has run its course.

So, put on your thinking caps or get in your TARDIS, and look into the future. Come 2018, what will your game of the 8th generation be?

For me, I think it will probably be some unannounced game that we haven't heard of yet. But if I had to pick a specific game, I'd go with The Legend of Zelda on WiiU. A Zelda game has already won one of these generational contests in my mind, plus the series has been consistently great for 30 years.

If Half-Life 3 or The Last Guardian ever get made, those would be contenders too.

I believe The Order 1886, The Witcher 3 and Quantum Break are going to be huge games.

But since we don't know at all what's waiting for us, it's kind of a silly question.

I seriously am pumped for X.

X looks amazing as well indeed. It's the only game that could really save the WiiU, along with Mario Kart 8, and maybe Super Smash... But since it'll also come out on the 3DS, I'm not so sure about this one.

Also, I don't think Uncharted 4 is going to be THAT great. It'll be a very good game, but the Uncharted series is not ND's best work at all.

Zelda U. Just the simple fact that it is going to be non-linear once again  ( ALBW hinted at this) makes me so excited for this entry.  X and Witcher 3 are also candidates. Let's also  take into consideration games that are unannounced and may blow us away ( nobody expected The Last of Us at the  beginning of the last generation)!

I think it will be Naughty Dog game #2 or #3. Maybe Final Fantasy XVI if it is turn based...
