True. Its hilarious. The best part is just seeing the Xbox One respond. When it said "Xbox Listening" on the screen everyones was like "its so sensitive, it understands me! OMG! I FOUND MY LOVER! WHY DONT YOU LISTEN TO ME!?"

My friends or a friend who has 360 friends are all getting the Xbox one, I asked him why when the ps4 is getting the majority of the same games a d they all run and look better... And he said "cuz u have friends", and that the Xbox has more games that appeal to him.. Like halo...... (I feel this is a small very small install base of ppl tho, like the same ppl that bought halo 4.. ) a lot of 360 guys aren't moving because they just hated the ps3 that much(just because of their bias)

Also getting a console based on launch games and not long term is stupid IMO

If you're only planning one having one console in the forseeable future, sure, if you expect to get another console as soon as more games show up for it (as the OP has stated is his plan), then what's the problem?

I'm not actually impressed with MS' launch games that much, but the thing was, they happened to cover a broader spectrum of games. Killzone was another shooter when EA and DICE already were covering shooters. Ryse's melee quicktime fest was something different. That PS4 has a better experience on both x-platform shooters helps, but people only want to play so much shooters... That's why you see CoD and Battlefield selling more on XBone than PS4, because they have no competition on XBone while they do have strong competition with Killzone on PS4. And Knack... yeah, that was kind of Sony's Christmas present for their hardware designer Cerny, don't let that guy in a software studio again, OK?

S.T.A.G.E.'s post makes sense to me. Anecdotal, yes, but interesting. It may not be the popular thing among fanatical gaming geekdom, but it makes all the sense in the world. And Titanfall being a system selling hit may be an nightmare for that same subset of gaming, but all signs point to that not being so far fetched.

BUT the Sony fanbase is loyal, loud and arrogant and the PS4 seems to be a great piece of tech, so this gen will be quite a battle for the distance methinks. I just hope it's enough outside of the core ...

Because the exact same thing happened with the 360 and PS3. The 360 had a great first two years with plenty of exclusives, and Microsoft stopped buying so many games and just stuck with Halo/Forza/Gears/Fable for the rest of the gen. The PS3 got an amazing lineup of exclusives once Sony got their act together in 2009. I don't think the PS4 will take as long as the PS3 did. I really don't see why some people are saying the PS4 has a weak exclusive lineup this year. Infamous Second Son, The Order 1886, Driveclub, The Witness, and possibly Uncharted. That's at least 4 major exclusives in one year. 

When the launch titles were announced for both console there wasn't much in it - meteoritic for both is pretty similar. However with the big gap in terms of quality of multiplats and how that has carried out into 2014 it seems to me that as the vast majority of games will be on both consoles it would be the better option to play them on the best console - currently ps4.

My suspicion - 2016 MSFT ditch xbox1 and bring out new console breaking console cycle which will upset the apple-cart.

It's so funny cause MS just bring exclusives on the beggining of the generation then it will become 2 -3 titles for year and no title on the console's last years... While PS4 will keep on with about 6 or more titles per year + console support at the generation's end

The Sony fanbase is no more loyal than any other fanbase.

There are a lot of PS fans who bought competing consoles.
