I was right there with you on that one. There was no way they were going to release Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros really close together. Wii U is already pretty set for the 2nd half of 2014 now with Bayonetta 2, Monolith Soft's "X," Super Smash Bros., Hyrule Warriors, possibly Yarn Yoshi, etc. Zelda will be shown at E3 and they'll say coming in 2015, with no concrete details on when...and then it'll wind up being the big title for holiday 2015. Now, the real problem is that big, gaping hole between DK in February and MK8 in May...I REALLY hope they have SOMETHING for the gap, but I have a feeling they'll probably release Boxing and Baseball for Wii Sports Club and mention some of the Indie eShop titles that could release in that period as if those will be enough. 

I have always fully believed that Smash Bros will be the big holiday 2014 title, however, it's worth mentioning that SOME people have reported that Miyamoto actually said Smash will arrive BY the end of 2014, not AT the end. So, it's possible they just haven't locked down exactly when it will be done (which is understandable because Sakurai is a perfectionist). And if that's the case, then maybe it could come sooner, or maybe they'll release the 3DS version sooner or something. Either way, I still think Zelda is 2015 100%. 

Yep.  Personally, I didn't expect Zelda U in 2014 even before the Hyrule Warriors announcement.

OT:  If Nintendo can manage Smash and/or Mario Kart bundles for $249 then they should do very nicely this holiday.

"by year's end" =/= "will arrive at the end of 2014".

I'd criticize your reading comprehension skills, but I suspect it was a deliberately misleading title. Poor form.

People are acting like this sort of thing means anything. Take every single delay Nintendo has ever made. Each one rendered the previous release window untrue. Nintendo is the king of delays and this is quite literally ZERO guarantee of anything. We could get to November and Iwata will be telling us to please understand.

...Just sayin'.

So Zelda U gets announced 1st , then Zelda:HW GETS ANNOUNCED A YEAR LATER.
Now, Zelda:HW will be released 1st and Zelda U is pushed back ?
You Nintendo Loyalists accept anything from Nintendo...... Delaying Zelda U to the holiday season instead of giving nintendo fans a good game as soon as possible. As if the Wii U docent need anything it can get to spur sales.

I'm so certain Zelda U won't come out this year I made a bet on it. (See sig)

 Well, a lot of people were expecting Zelda U to be a holiday 2014 title and Smash Bros 4 to be a summer 2014 title before the announcement of Hyrule Warriors.  After the annoucement of that game, nobody should have expected Zelda U to be a 2014 title.

Well, to be fair the majority agreed on Zelda being a 2015 title, but in the poll 30% said it would be 2014 and some people discussing (mainly Zero) were also dead set about Zelda coming this holiday.
