Forums - Gaming Discussion - Tomb Raider Definitive Edition runs at 60 FPS on PS4 (Xbone - 30FPS)

The definitive version of this game will be uncharted 4 and it will be on the strongest console with the best controller, 60$ for a re-release with not enough improvement, for me anyway, is not worth it

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

But why would you buy the inferior version when you could buy the better version? I can fully understand why people would buy it if they only owned an X1 but to me this doesn't make sense.

Controller preference. I like the One controller better, that's just me, therefore all multiplats are bought on the One.

?? people are still using the controller line? The ds4 is every bit as good if not better then x1 controller hardly a reason to buy an inferior version of games at this point. Use it for 10 mins you wont find any diff.

It worked last gen for PS3 owners.

You got that backwards it was all I heard form xbox fans last gen.

But I really DO like the Xbox One controller better because I like the staggered analog sticks.  And I will gladly tell anyone the PS4 is more powerful, of course.

Its not an excuse at all.  I think a few ppl hear have mentioned, would love to be able to use the X1 controller on ps4.  Maybe they will release a 3rd party adapter, who knows.

I'm actually fascinated by how much people care about controllers. Never once as a gamer have I ever had an issue with a controller and I never would base my console/game purchase off that. Controllers to me have always been good enough regardless of system.

Agreed, and the ds4 is every bit as good if not better then the x1 controller. Makes no sense to me, its not like either is hard to use, they both feel natural, people just are stuck in their ways.

Yep I've had the first nintendo, Genesis, Dreamcast,PS2,360,PS3, and PS4. I've never once thought about which controller is better cause it's literally never even popped into my head it's just something I never think about. The only input device that's ever swayed me away from a gaming device is the mouse and keyboard. I can't use them laying down on my couch so I stopped PC gaming if it wasn't for that I would be PC gaming and probably forget consoles. I know you can use controllers on a PC but in FPS's I'll get owned.

Has anyone from Microsoft confirm that the One can even do 1080p 60fps games other than racing games?

I think only exclusives will be able to attain 1080p because Microsoft is taking care of the online stuff which allows them to focus on the game as a whole.

I distictively remember a lot of people last gen claiming they preferred the console with the better looking multiplats. And some of them are the same who claim they see no differnce in this gen

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Just being curious, here: IF, in a fantasy world, that you could play the superior console version of this game on the PS4 with an Xbox One controller, would you?  I know it's not possible, I'm just asking IF it was, would that change your buying choice?

Absolutely. Controller preference is the most important aspect to me when buying all consoles. If there was a way to use the One controller on PS4 with no secondary attachments, I would get the superior 3rd party multiplats, and IMO, the more varied first party games. The One would be used for only exclusives.

I think that gives it away slightly lol.  You know damn well you'd need an attachment.

It's amusing as hell looking at people trying to convince themselves the X1 isn't that much worse by assuming it hits 45fps and the PS4 dips below 50fps. Blips appear in all games. It's 30fps on the X1 and 60fps on the PS4. Just accept it.

I accepted it.

thats terrible guess devs arent used to the cloud yet

xb1 is in the same position ps3 was let see if MS can make same turn around

This has zero to do with devs or the cloud..the ps4 is quite a bit more powerfull, nothing is going to change this gen. PS3 and 360 were close with ps3 being hard to code for, and 360 had a memeory and gpu advantage. This time ps4 has every advantage.
