So we've seen a few of Nintendo's attempts to reignite WiiU fail now, the bundles, the 'price cut', Super Mario 3D World, Zelda remake.

At what point do we say, this thing isn't going to take off or even sustain 5m a year??

When/if Mario kart doesn't do anything?

Smash?

Price cut to $199?

Something else??

It sold slightly more than the x1 for a week so thats an achievement... I think it will sell fine in 2014... 2013 didn't have any big system sellers apart from two mario games... But we will see

If Smash and MK fails, then yea, wiiU is doomed

A) as ioi pointed out, console sales that close doesn't = a win for a system

B) was adjusted anyway, XB1 is ahead now

C) literally means nothing anyway that either console won that week ....

For some people I think it's when the console gets discontinued... :D

But seriously, while I think the Wii U will have a 5mil+ year, I'd still say that the point is past already, you don't get a year as bad as this just because of a game drought, so none of Nintendos usual suspect will make the Wii U take off and neither will a 100$ price cut.

IF MK8 fails, Wii U will be doomed. No question.

This has been obvious since 10 months or so by now. No game will really push the Wii U into respectable levels. The best Nintendo can hope is to start making some profits from their HW, something that is still entirely possible. If you are going to sell 4million per year atleast do it while making a solid profit.

Id like to add that one region with healthy sales still isnt good even if that region sells more than another product with 2 regions. Id rather take 2 decent regions and 1 pathetic region over 1 decent region and 2 pathetic regions any day
