Assuming 720p and 30 FPS is the default, 60 FPS. Because while both 720 and 1080 will look bad in ten or twenty years when 4k is the standard definition, 60 FPS is always going to look good.

60fps, still looking good?

That game would still look like shit at 4K and 240 fps.

Atleast try to find a decent looking game that runs at 60 fps. Like this...

The video doesn't work, neither does the source www.youtube.com/v/QFXBmUi8q3s
Firefox changes it into this weird address https://youtube.googleapis.com/v/QFXBmUi8q3s
Is my browser hacked...

The ID works, Scud race?  Well it looks better then Rapid racer, but it has no lava physics! Can't say it actually running in 60fps would suddenly make it still look good, nor running in 4k and 240fps. Those old 3D games aged badly.

1080p is so 2009.

The real master race plays at 1440p.

1440p is so 2012.

Nintendo 2018

English is not my native language.

According what I have studied, no one can notice a framerate higher than 60 FPS.
I dont mind 30 FPS games, although it is locked.

720p is great in my 42", i have to stop the game and search for details to see the difference between 720p and 1080p. So 720p is good enough for me.

I don't know, I really do like 1080p and would probably prefer that at 30fps than 720p at 60fps. If it drops lower than 30fps then yeah, screw 1080p. Then again, depends on the game.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

1080p@120fps on a 120 hz monitor please :)

In terms of those 2, 60 fps wins easily.

You cant even feel that.

 Overkill in refresh rate lol.

Anyway 1080p, lower graphics. 60fps

Resogun laughs heartily at this thread.

As long as framerate is 30fps with no frame drops then I'm fine with it.

I'd rather a game be 720p with better graphics than worse graphics but able to push 1080p.

So if 720/30 can get us better looking games, I'd take that over 1080/30, 720/60, and 1080/60.

Not a big difference in 1080, 900, 720p. Artstyle is more important than anything. But FPS is very noticeable to the eye.

Having both would be preferred though.

thats simply not true.

people with decent vision, whether corrected or non corrected vision, can see substantial difference in >100% resolution.

resolution doesnt matter to xbox fans this gen its all about that solid cinematic framerate this gen

Lol, Idk even know why they say they'd rather have smoother framerate over higher resolution, since so far they have gotten neither.  Now, I guess games at 720P with framerates like last gen, albiet with improved graphics, is acceptable.

@ OP

As long as the game is a rock solid 30 FPS, I prefer 1080p.  Might as well use my TV to its full potential.  Of course, I have full confidence that we will start to see plenty of 1080p 60 FPS on the PS4.
