Now, I know it's not a HUGE amount of people doing it. But there is currently a box (Just the box) on ebay that is up to $410 with 27 bids. But then what makes me even more confused is the fact that I can't even find ONE PS4 box on sale on ebay. What's going on here, and why are people willing to pay so much for a box? 

They must be die hard Xbox fans who really like boxes!! who can blame them?

they had a special edition box for launch day, which is all black, compared to the normal box which is green
people are bidding on that black box, Sony didn't do anything special on their box for day one release

Its cause its a good system... The games coming out for it are pretty good... Specially TitanFall which should be the cod killer imo... The game looks fantastic as well as being MS exclusive and MS has reversed majority of the complaints the gamers had so overall, its a pretty good system... not worth $500 imo which is why I didn't get one but its a good system and people don't seem to mind spending that $100 more for it...

kinda funny, here in Aus the day one edition is still available 10 days later. With that not only do you get a special black box but a console and controller with the day one markings

But back to topic a lot of people get confuse and don't realize that is just the box I have seen it happen in other items.

While I do like the system, I think either:

bidding by people being careless, or somebody's sweet grandpa trying to buy his grandson the game of his dreams before cancer finally takes him. The people selling the box remind me of the people that sold pictures of phones.

Or I know some people were selling their 'day one' achievement and live pass. But some people might want those. Can't imagine anyone really wanting to spend $400+ on a cardboard box.

I just don't get some people.
