Sadly for me shooters are at the bottom of my list of games that I can enjoy.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

I don't care what the PS4 will be labeled as ("whatever"box). All I know is that I'm looking forwards Killzone, inFamous, Assassins Creed 4, Marvel LEGOs, Dragon Age, Dynasty Warriors, and the Order 1866 so far. And only one of those is a shooter.

So was the PS3.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

Who gives a damn? We have more variety in gaming now than ever before. Why is that so much worse than the "jumper boxes" of previous generations? People need to stop whining about this stuff. You want to jump? I'm almost certain there are plenty of games like that out there. Jealous because they don't dominate they way the used to? Sorry, but not really. I don't play Military Shooters at all and I have plenty of quality games to play.

most of my friends who have a ps3 only have this games: FIFA and COD, thnks god gtaV happened so they could try a different game. I think ps4 won't be different if most of the people feel the need to upgrade just to buy the same games

Like people have said, that's what sells in 2013. It's been like this for years, I do however think despite seeing a lot of shooters, there will be other games. Infamous, KH3, Final Fantasy; like he said. Plus other games not announced, but I think we're all going to eventually see. ie) Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, niche JRPG games, Tales of, etc. PS4, like PS3, is going to still have the most diverse and varied library. It's not like it's all going to be shooters.

While that might be true for its launch, 2014 looks a lot different.

Its not specific to any platform, the demographic is changing, the best selling games on PC are shooters too. The online connectivity is everywhere, a good internet is a standard in any household. Naturally, shooters are a whole lot easier to pick up and play in a multiplayer environment, its a genre that's popular with any teen, any competitive players, any dude bros. You just can't beat fps as a genre, the developers are jumping into this wagon too.

Nah, PC's aren't dominated by FPS games.

Top 10 best selling PC games (That I know of!)
1) The Sims 2. - 20 million copies. - Simulation.
2) The Sims. - 16 Million copies. - Simulation.
3) Minecraft - 12.7 million copies. - Whatever you want it to be.
4) Diablo 3. 12+ million copies. - RPG/Hack and Slash.
5) Half Life 2. 12 million copies. - Shooter.
6) Battlefield 2. 11 million copies. - Shooter.
7) StarCraft+Brood Wars. 11 million copies. - Real Time Strategy.
8) The Sims 3. 10 million copies. - Simulation.
9) Half Life. - 9.3 million copies. - FPS.
10) Guild Wars. - 6.3 million copies. - RPG

RPG's/Hack and Slash and MMO's are what really dominates on the PC in terms of player counts, look no farther than Dota 2, League of Legends and World of Warcraft as prime examples.

To be far, the same goes for the xbox one audience. Also dominated by shooters.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

two things, a lot of XBOX fans are buying the PS4 this gen, or there are not many good things to play so every game is selling arguably good at launch.
