I agree with your controversial part, the PS3 should have ended first. They had hardcore first party games, and the most hardcore processor of the 7th gen. Xbox 360 with their online strategy should have ended second, it changed gaming to a more hardcore form. The Wii lacked hardcore everything, they need to get their shit together or sell their corp!

Don't matter to me at all. Nintendo Wii to me is one of the worst consoles I have ever seen and it finished 1st.

If people do not care about sales then please visit another forum. This place has been polluted enough by non-sales talk.

what matters to me tho is in the long run the console that I do end up buying keeps getting support from devs and not end up like r.i.p dreamcast!

i agree with you OP.

I still question company tactics though, and find the number sales interesting, but I do not own stock and dont really care overall. Its fun to try to predict though.

In all honesty, while I have no personal stake in these systems yet, I would be happy to see the cream rise to the top.

So, for instance, companies that embrace less-then-friendly-consumer-policies might see that reflected in their bottom line, and likewise the company that offers the best overall product.

It do care about the sales being high enough so that the consoles get good support in there lifespan, It's also quite interesting to see how consoles are performing compared to the competition, That being said I don't mind what console manufacturer wins a generation :)

I'm a Sony fan with a soft spot for Nintendo, so as long as Nintendo pulls through and sells enough to get into the next generation i'm fine, Sony i don't really need to worry about because it looks like their heading down the right track.

All these Nintendo gloom threads are making me worried, the gaming industry would be very very bleak without Nintendo
