"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

God of War is huge in South America, I bet it's the reason the series is so under-tracked because Vgchartz doesn't track the region. Wish we had numbers for each game.

Wow surprised at the GoW Ascension position, higher than TLoU. Hot damn.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Gaming market is becoming huge around here. And this week we got PS Plus!

Nice, any chance we might get the numbers behind those rankings?

I know the PS3 and the Xbox 360 and soon the Xbox One are all being made there. But what about the Wii? Does it get walloped with that huge electronics import tax?

Anyway, looks like they chose a bunch of good games, and they should be having fun.

Any chance we could see which games are actually voiced in Portuguese?

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Discussion without numbers is just talk... i will surely like to see some numbers before making any reasonable comments..

Sorry, problably we will not get the numbers. Its GFK, after all.

Is it true Nintendo is practically unheard of in Brazil?

I found this concept of Brazil as the 4th videogame market in the world quite controversial, since it includes revenue from mobile/tablet games, which are huge in the country. I wonder how Brazil would rank if only the console market itself was considered. If I remember well, the Brazilian console market is smaller than all big three european markets (France, Germany, UK) and possibly smaller than Spain.

Still, MANY consoles and games are sold through the "gray market" here (mainly imports from USA), so it´s hard to have a perfect, even approximated, picture of the brazilian market.

And...no..Purple... Nintendo has a huge fan base in Brazil, but Nintendo itself never invested in brazilian market. Most people buy Nintendo products on the gray market. There are a few companies, like NC Games and Gaming do Brasil, that have partnerships with Nintendo and then are able to launch their products here, consoles and games. Brazilian extensive bureaucracy, prohibitive taxes and high cost of the industry technology has prevent Nintendo to have a better presence in the country.

MS and Sony doesn´t have those problems because they´ve been in the country for many decades by now, with different products

No, I don't think so. There're a lot of nintendo fans around here, specially the old school ones (myself included).

I don't have numbers (I can try to find some later) but I'm pretty sure DS and 3DS are quite popular here too.
