I found this concept of Brazil as the 4th videogame market in the world quite controversial, since it includes revenue from mobile/tablet games, which are huge in the country. I wonder how Brazil would rank if only the console market itself was considered. If I remember well, the Brazilian console market is smaller than all big three european markets (France, Germany, UK) and possibly smaller than Spain.
Still, MANY consoles and games are sold through the "gray market" here (mainly imports from USA), so it´s hard to have a perfect, even approximated, picture of the brazilian market.
And...no..Purple... Nintendo has a huge fan base in Brazil, but Nintendo itself never invested in brazilian market. Most people buy Nintendo products on the gray market. There are a few companies, like NC Games and Gaming do Brasil, that have partnerships with Nintendo and then are able to launch their products here, consoles and games. Brazilian extensive bureaucracy, prohibitive taxes and high cost of the industry technology has prevent Nintendo to have a better presence in the country.
MS and Sony doesn´t have those problems because they´ve been in the country for many decades by now, with different products
