Forums - Nintendo Discussion - DKC: Tropical Freeze Delayed? (Don't Panic)

Definitely don't mind the DK delay if it means Mario Kart instead. I played MK8 at Nintendo World after E3 and it was amazing. However I will not be a happy camper if the game is shipped incomplete. One of the best things about Nintendo is that it doesn't release half-finished games. Would be a bad precedent from one of the few publishers that doesn't gouge us on DLC.

Perhaps they are afraid it will get lost in the mix...
In addition to Wii Sports Club, you have Wii Fit U, Super Mario 3D World, Pokemon X and Y, and A Link Between Worlds...
I imagine they anticipate these releases to be pretty major...
Waiting to release Tropical Freeze may prove to be a not so bad idea...

Have a nice day...

This is pretty much what I think. It is the only time I've got excited about MK since the original one more than 20 years ago (?!?) - Yup, I preferred Diddy Kong on 64 and ExciteBots on Wii, did not have a GC - so I really hope they do not jump the gun. I wanna play TF but it can wait. Just don't think a rushed MK is worth it.

Feb 2014 it s best for my pockets

I think we need to settle this. It will be delayed until next year. What this means to me, is that DK will fill the gap between holidays and spring releases. It makes sense, I guess:

July - New Super Luigi U (digital)
August - New Super Luigi U (retail) / Pikmin 3
September - The Wonderful 101 / TLOZ The Wind Waker HD (digital-bundle)
October - TLOZ The Wind Waker HD (retail-limited edition) / Wii Party U / Sonic Lost World
November - Super Mario 3D World / Wii Sports Club
December - Wii Fit U

January - empty
February - Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Spring - Mario Kart 8
After Spring - X, Bayonneta 2, Super Smash Bros, Yoshi Yarn, Fire Emblem x ShinMegamiTensei

Guess this means no game before MK8. Only DK.

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

They definitely have another gap in releases for the 1st three months of 2014, which is problematic. Also maybe they felt Mario/DK both being platformers would cannibalize sales away from each other.

Of course I have to repeat we have no confirmation at all yet. I hope it comes out Dec. 6th as planned.

Per NeoGaf is seems Amazon.com has changed the Dec. 5th date on the game to TBA and Xtralife is now listing a Feburary 2014 release date.

Lets not get too carried away it could mean nothing, but I wonder if something is up.

Perhaps Nintendo could move Mario Kart 8 up to December and release it with some missing retro tracks that could be added later on as free DLC in this case?

Between NSMBU/NSLU, Sonic: LW, Rayman Legends, and Mario 3D World, the Wii U was overloaded with platformers anyway I guess.

The first thing you should have done is to check the official Nintendo website. That will be the first thing they change, it has happened before with other games like Pikmin 3.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is still dated December 6, 2013. And people belive this.

Sounds like a strategic move. With Mario and Sonic out for the holidays, is there really need for Donkey kong? The game will probably be eclipsed by mario and the presumably well received new Sonic.

If it turns out fake, then its yet another title for the Wii U holidays.
