then be like me. i'm waiting until Feb/March to buy into next gen. by then the sales landscape will be apparent (apparent enough) and i can buy into best product.
It would certainly be disheartening but it won't stop either side from enjoying all the cool titles coming up for their respectively consoles.

Depends on the time frame that the title of the thread is talking about. At which point in time do you think it could happen? 2013? End of 2014? In ten years? If the XB1 does outsell the PS4 in any time frame, I for one wouldn't be surprised as the Xbox brand is pretty huge.
But I would be surprised if the PS4 has to actually play catch up again to whoever does lead the race (if the leader isn't Sony of course).

Doubtful, PS3 that released a year later than the X360 is now outselling the X360, PS4 is 100 dollars cheaper, a slicker and smaller console while being more powerful, and launching in more countries than the X1. If I were to choose in between the PS4 or X1 right now, based on the way PS+ works vs Gold, I'd rather have PS+ because they actually give you games while you sub and Gold just pisses into your asshole. Not that I'd pay for either one, just saying.

What makes you bthink that even if Micrsoft went whole hog and upped XB1's specs to the level that you think they will that Sony couldn't just up the price of PS4 by $100 and do the same? Note: If they did the holiday season and gen would clearly belong to Nintendo if both PS4 and XB1 launched at $500.00.

People prefer Playstation to Xbox worldwide because Playstation's game lineup is more than just a couple of shooters.

I don't get the crying part though. I mean, sure you like Sony, but if they screw up, they screw up. Vox populi vox dei, even if I don't like that Nokia is no more really, and the iPhone is the cause of it, I wouldn't cry over it.

The Vita doesn't have to claw its way into second place. That's how good its selling. Vita is going to take second easy this gen.
