Forums - Gaming Discussion - CoD: Ghosts Season Pass - $50?!?! What the hell.

Is the new season pass for $50 a ripoff?

I've always gotten the "Hardened" edition of CoD games in the past, or the season pass, because they were $20 for all the map packs and actually meant saving money over buying the maps separately.

But now I have noticed that CoD Ghosts has a $50 season pass this time around?! Still just 4 map packs, so why in the world did the price more than double? For once, I will be happy playing the normal maps and never buying any expansions if they keep it that high. I'm not going the spend the price of another game just to have new maps, and I am one of the most competitive CoD online players (top 1% in leaderboards).

Any of you all notice this as well? What do you think?

EDIT: For reference, I believe I paid $99 for MW3 hardened, which included a year of CoD Elite as well (which I don't see as part of this one).

It was the same price with Black Ops 2 so it's not really a rip-off especially considering the fact that buying 4 map packs separately is 60. How much is the hardened edition now?

they charge that much because people will still pay for it.

Cod is always the most expensive game at the stores I go to aswell.

Im skipping this entry got bored of it in BO2 lucky KZ is coming about around the same time and all map packs are going to be free :D no more trying to play dlc 3 months after it launches only to find nobody has brought it:P

Same price as last year.

Since Activision isn't doing two CODS a year, their other source of income is map packs lol

It's just that simple.

That would explain it. I never bought Black Ops 2. Not a fan of the Treyarch series.

Yay for not paying for online.
Some people may be happy to pay those prices, but I'm not one of them.

Season pass was always 50 bucks. They gave a decent deal on MW3 hardened edition as they were trying to launch their COD elite service. This time they have raised the prices on both hardened and prestige edition. I mean prestige edition is like 200 freaking dollars.

Also Infinity ward is not what it used to be. Treyarch is the A team now.

He is talking about dlc bundle discount. Not xbox live or ps plus requirement to play online.

The doggie you are to care about deeply needs to eat. That virtual kibble to feed the virtual dog is not free
