Forums - Sony Discussion - If Sony's best case scenario unfolded this year with the PS3, would you buy

hahahahah o while people hate so much. the ps3 is kicking 360s ass right now and if these things happen it will BLOW 360 out of the water. i have one and id get another one (slim) if all this happened lol. ps3 has the best games now and the best ones coming out IMHO.

the no game thing is so old that it makes me want to cry everytime i here it bcause it is NOT true and hasnt been since sept. of 2007.

also WHEN blu-ray wins half the people on this thread will have a ps3.

why didn't you say $ 100 ?? hmmm
Yes, If it was $100 and came with a motion sensing pointer controller, and had the mario, zelda, halo, and mass effect franchises on it. Oh and maybe if it played HD-DVD as well as Blu-Ray..... and cake?

I have an N-Gage... and still play it.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

of course I would buy one, I already have one, but maybe I would buy another.

If a slim releases, (in what I expect to be years down the road), I will buy it, and by then I expect all of these features to be present in that model.

but as DmeisterJ said, your list is not that inconceivable, maybe we will hear more about it at GDC- even though Sony isn't having a keynote this year.

no, i would like to, but don't have the money to sustain more than one platform.

 Did somebody say cake?

Oh and no I probably wouldn't. I have no interest in HD at the moment and there are not enough games on the PS3 that interest me. Plus, I'm a one console per gen kind of guy and even that doesnt get much playing.

no, cause there is only few games coming to ps3 i would like to play and huge amount of games on ps2 i would love to play(60 or more) so for 299$ i would get used ps2 and many good (used) games for this system.

Where have you been friend? 60+ PS2 games you want to play versus only a few PS3 games? WTF?

Let me guess in 5/6 years you will say when you ask you about buying a ps4 you will answer:

"no, cause there is only a few games coming to the ps4 i would like to play and a huge amount on ps3 i would love to play"

How about you buy the systems while they are current? Those few ps3 games coming to the ps3 will turn into a "huge amount" in a few years and then you will never play. Oh well, I'm happy playing current games on the current console generation.

maybe because i've never had ps2, and i like more nintendo consoles(and games) than ps3? nad in europe there's no BC on ps3 so i would buy ps2(even if there would be BC) cause i can buy it for about 100$with many great titles. i don't have hd tv and i don't need it. i don't need BD/hddvd player too cause there's not many good movies in my country on those formats too(i love old movies and i don't think they will ever be on hd formats), besides dvd is cheaper so i will stick with that format after all.

umm...probably not, or at least not in 2008. with an xbox, wii, and ds i don't have enough time/money to play all the games i want anyways. if blu ray were the definitive standard over dvd i'd likely pick up a ps3 over a stand alone blu ray player but i would have to get an HDTV first and i don't have money for that let alone $300 for a ps3 to use with it.

I plan on getting a PS3 anyway, this would sweeten the deal though.

Also, 3,4,5,6, and 7 will probably be true. 1 will be true in a year or two. Your numbers aren't fantasies, many of them will be reality. 2 and 8 I'd probably say no to though.

Are you kidding me? You don't have a PS3? And I thought you were one of us... j/k

No.

Sitting on the couch with a traditional gamepad just doesn't sound fun to me anymore.  Plus all my gaming needs are already met.  When I want simplicity and fun, I have Wii.  If I want complexity and depth, I have a PC.

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)
