If Wii has (zero to little) more power than the Gamecube

You aren't even making an attempt at informing yourself about the hardware within the Wii before making a statement about it.  I didn't bother reading the rest of your post, and won't bother reading your future posts if they're going to have this kind of 'substance' to them.

So this leaves me with the question: If Wii has (zero to little) more power than the Gamecube, and the controller is the innovative part (which i digg, don't forget that) why support the Gamecube-controller. Then they just could've stick with the Gamecube... But this time around, we have a good looking Gamecube with online and that's actually selling well! But c'mon Nintendo; If the graphics are the same as last gen and i have to keep playing it with a Gamecube controller i might as well just stick with me old Cube...

1) The Wii is about twice as powerful as the Gamecube.

2) The Gamecube controller is supported to satisfy the waggle haters.

3) The Gamecube is dead, that's why Nintendo isn't anymore making games for it.

4) The graphics aren't the same as last gen.

5) You don't have to play it with a Gamecube controller, the Wiimote is supported as well.

6) This Mario Kart won't be released for the Gamecube.

7) This thread fails, because you haven't done your research before you started a pointless rant.

8) Cake tastes good.

9) Chocolate is even better.

10) I am hungry.

Neither have you ... as far as I remember there are no official Wii technical specs. so you 2x powerfull point is inexistent from the start ... yes the Wii is more powerfull than the GC ( MP3 , SMG , SSBB prooves this ) but whit how much nobody could tell ...

ign stated it here: http://wii.ign.com/articles/733/733464p7.html - " It is roughly twice as powerful as GameCube."

and again here: http://wii.ign.com/articles/690/690730p1.html

quote "Industry sources have already commented that the Wii GPU would be slightly more powerful than that of the GameCuBe by approximately 2-2.5 times." is here: http://wii.qj.net/Nintendo-Wii-Graphics-It-s-Only-the-Beginning/pg/49/aid/50465

also, now you admit that wii is more powerful than gc while earlier you said "zero to little" more powerful...why the change?  nothing on this thread convinced you since you said that it was SMG/MP3/etc that proved it, which you already knew

can you admit you were being biased and impartial with your OP?

Bets:Missed by 420k I bet leo-j vg$500 that wii will sell 31 million by 7/31/08.  Sorry, I don't think he has enough vg$ to make it with all of u that wish you could. Hit, with room to spare I bet kingofwale a 1-week ban that wii Americas ltd sales>360 Americas ltd sales as of the numbers for week ending 7/05/08 (using vgchartz homepage #s)

Because the GC controller is the best in the world...

This is a valid point. The GCN controller has poor button layouts, but for a game like MKWii, that layout is actually good. Combine that with the fact that the GCN controller is the most comfortable traditional controller ever, and you basically come out with the fact that any game that CAN be played with the GCN controller SHOULD have that option.

Moving on, since we know that option does indeed exist, those graphics pointed out in the initial post are because the graphics will change depending on which controller method you have selected. If you've got waggle controls selected, the graphics show Wii buttons. If you've got the Classic Controller selected, it shows CC buttons. If you've got the GCN controller selected, it shows GCN buttons.

Simple.

Personally, I think the Gamecube controller has superior button layouts.

I like the GCN controller very much, too... Well, for BEUs the asymmetric button layout is pretty bad and the d-pad is too small, for example for SEUs (but at least it HAS a real d-pad which is a very good one, too) but on the other hand side the button layout is just great for JNRs, ADVs, RPGs..., etc... Control is simply more easy to memorize! By the way the GCN controller has two great analog shoulder buttons and in my opinion the control sticks are the best... Well, on THEIR layout you can have different opinions depending on which games you want to play (same as with the button layout)... The rumble feature was just too weak, by the way..., but at least betters as the Wii remote's...

this is a clear example how nobody will satisfy all the people 100%...
If they don't add the possibility of using Gamecube controllers people will argue, If they put it people will start ridiculous threads with no base and personal assumptions...

 Winner.

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.

How about we compare Smash Bros. Melee to Smash Bros. Brawl.

1: Stop making shooters. Please. You're not Valve or Free Radical.
2: Stop trying to force photo-realism down my throat until you can get out of the uncanny valley. Work on style and presentation instead of just pixels and bloom.
3: Try something weird and new, and hope we like it.

You'll cut costs way more than you cut revenue, and thus increase profit.

Sony have been using the same tired old controller for years.

That's because the PS controller is godly and there is no need for a change.  Not everything has to be "innovative", lolz.

How about a triple chocolate Amaretto cake?

I can't believe you are complaining that the Wii is backward compatible to GC controllers. What a horrible concept!

Either you are just trying to flame the Wii, or you seriously knew nothing about a game before you whined about it. What person interested in the game, seriously doesn't know that Mario Kart Wii comes with a Steering Wheel peripheral that holds the Wiimote?
