So a game with long lasting value at $90 is something to complain about while the recent games that you bought for $50-$60 and didn't last over a month are perfectly acceptable?

Your pitchfork is aimed in the wrong direction.

I needed the money at the time, I didn't use that money to buy games.

That's beside the point:

"I should never sold my old copy, I regret that choice to this very days base, but I needed the money at the time.  The recent games I bought. Hyped games that was only fun for a month. :/ "

A game that doesn't last longer than a month hardly seems to be worth the standard $60. 90 for a game that will last years sounds more than reasonable in comparison.

Oh you mean that, yeah, I (sometimes) is one of those gamers that get caught up in the hype with these triple AAA games like Max Payne 3, Borderland 2, Black Ops 2 etc.

I sold Xenoblade Chronicles for other reasons.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen.

Selling your copy of Xenoblade Chronicles isn't a way that supports Monolith Soft, so I say: Serves you right.

Nintendo is no longer printing the game. Attempting to curb used games sales now will do nothing. Nintendo has now made it very clear that the one new, interesting IP they have is worthless to them.

I don't know about "not caring" but, it's clear it's not a priority. And that's really weird because this game was the best RPG of this entire generation. It felt like the spiritual successor to FF X and as far as I'm concerned, is.

Maybe it's ego since they didn't develop it in house.

the game is worth it even at that price. It is selling on ebay for about that anyways so yea that's what it costs. It's stupid to say it's not worth it when that's what people are willing to pay for it, hence the ebay price and amazon price. Probably my favorite game this gen.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

90 dollars for xenoblade? A 3 year old game? I think it's overpriced, what is the reason of the price?

Very low supply, high demand.

Is it really that low? I mean the game managed to sell 840k copies right? And 390k are from north america! There are a lot of other games that sell even less and they aren't priced at 90 dollars.

From what I keep reading and hearing, they only sent one shipment and only to gamestop in North America.

That's weird... but well if that's the case I can understand it... Damn that's expensive :/

High quality goods that lots of people want, low supply simple economics.

I was lucky enough to pick up Xenoblade at Gamestop last year (also grabbed a used copy of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn at the time for like $20) I was happy to get two awesome RPGs for my Wii for $70, I wouldn't pay half that for RPGs for my PC or PS3 (because while they maybe good you can expect the price to come down).

Nintendo's biggest problem shows through here, they are very conservative. They assumed this game would fail and therefore didn't setup to support it in case it did good.

However being conservative can also be one of Nintendo's biggest strengths. In this instance now they have a game that is an instant cult classic, has a bunch of people will to buy at almost double the original price 3 years after it came out and they have a sequel (or spiritual sequel still not sure) to it coming to the Wii U next year. The high prices and rarity of Xenoblade could work as marketing in itself for X, and I could see them rereleasing Xenoblade (or doing like a combo game or something, or just a digital release) around X's launch to drum up excitement and sales, and they can probably sell it at $50 still despite the fact that it will be 4-5 years old by that time. In a lot of ways that's genius.

Systems Currently Playing: WiiU, PS3, 3DS

Also Have: Atari 2600, NES, SNES, PS1, N64, PS2, Wii, GB, GBC, GBA, DSLite, DSi, Android (RazorMax), iPhone (4), iPad (2)

Nintendo are even restocking the game with a small re-design inside the box. Nintendo....the fuck. Now I don't think I want to buy it now. Nintendo please lower the price, you want us to support Monolith Soft, this ain't the way to do it.

Hey bud, just letting you know that when the game was announced as a gamestop exclusive, it was announced as a limited edition printing.  Nintendo isn't restocking anything and none of the gamestop copies are new.  In fact, one of the managers at gamestop i know of brought in a trade of xenoblade, used his discount to buy the game himself, just to sell it on ebay and make 20$ profit.  If you traded in a xenoblade they'd probably give you like 30$ for it which is alot for a 3 year old wii game.  The game has been "bumped up" because it's a rare game now.  Actually saw this coming.  I bought my copy and wasn't going to open it to preserve a higher collection value, then when it gained value i was going to buy a used copy for (what i guessed at the time) 80$ and sell mine for 120$.  Got home one day, was bored and thought to myself "oh yeah, forgot i have this game; i haven't even opened it yet!".  Sigh, wish i had remembered my plan.  that would have been cool.  Anyway, i based that all on what happened to metroid trilogy.  Anyway, a little off topic.  Yeah, so gamestop and nintendo are not really doing any of the pricing for these used games.  Gamestop is simply basing their price on market value.  Which, if you check ebay, sits at about 80$ used and 100-120$ sealed.
