The rumors in their original text appear to be translated, or rather, written by someone who uses English as a second language. "Power boost" could have been mistranslated to mean, "larger storage capacity" or even be as trivial as a firmware update.

 

In the literal meaning, I could only assume an expansion pack type device that increases the ram of the console, perhaps packed in with Mario Kart Wii?

 

This is all speculation in its truest form, however.

Surfer Girl and Skater Boy just cull their rumours from other sources.

The Timesplitters 4 one, for example, is derived from a comment David Doak gave in a GameInformer interview:

"GI: Are you thinking about putting TimeSplitters on the Wii, as well? What do you think about making a first-person shooter for the Wii?

Doak: I think it’s a good thing to do, and I think we want to put it on the Wii."

The "I think we want to put it on the Wii" part is quoted on the Wikipedia entry for TS4, but note that the interviewer says "as well" (not mentioned on the Wiki page).

That is why SG/SB are saying it is a possible Wii exclusive. They definitely do not have a contact inside Free Radical, they are just getting info from widely available sources and passing it off as insider info.

I would be very, very surprised if TS4 was a wii exclusive. I expect it to be released on all 3 platforms like TS2 and Future Perfect were last gen (it may even be released on PS2 as well).

Good find!

I don't think there will be lots of multiplatform games besides the Maddens/FIFA's etc.
Most developers will choose either Wii excl or PS360, as downgraded ports don't really sell on Wii, it's not woth the extra effort.

 My take on the rumours:

  1. Kingdom Hearts 3 will come to Wii True
  2. An exclusive Metal Gear game will come to Wii, related to GBC: Metal Gear: Ghost Babel True
  3. Factor5 is making Turrican for Wii, a mix between Metroid and Shadow of the Colossus Unsure, but they will make a Wii exclusive
  4. Timesplitters 4 could be Wii exclusive Most certainly NOT true
  5. The Suikoden franchise moves from Playstation to Wii True
  6. A sequel to Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is in the making True
  7. Custom Robo will come to Wii Unsure
  8. Retro is working on a Zelda spin-off True
  9. Star Fox is in development at an external developer Unsure, Star Fox may be in development, but at an external developer??
  10. Golden Sun won't come to Wii but to DS Probably
  11. Mother/Earthbound could already come to Wii in 2008 False
  12. Animal Crossing will be released in 2009 Probably
  13. PROBE has an exclusive Wii game that will be unveiled before TGS. SEGA has an option on the publishing rights Unsure
  14. Nintendo will give the Wii a "power boost" soon Let's hope so, could be more storage, as it is needed for WiiWare and the Demo Channel
  15. Beyond Good and Evil 2 will come to Wii, PS3 and 360 I don't think so
  16. Mega Man will be in Brawl (we can consider that one false I guess) Proven false

I think so to, therefore the list. I keep hearing that she was right a few times. If they predicts over 75% I think they can be called credible.


 surfegirl works for a publication company (probably a secretary) and only gets predictions right around this time of the month and then still isn't 100%.  To fill the time between magazine releases, she makes easy/obvious predictions, ones that are easily forgotten, and ones so vague you just don't care.

Timesplitters 4 exclusive would be awesome, imagine the controls. I like FPS all of the sudden better thanks to the WII controls, normally I hate them... because of the analogue controls.
