Forums - Movies & TV - Who's down for some Elysium

I just got back from World War Z and saw this as a trailer:

Before today, I had no idea (or at least don't remember) about this movie. I saw Damon, said "aight", then saw Blomkamp and was like "fuck yes". Anyone want to share what they know about it? I'm counting heavily on Blomkamp bringing some more grittiness, looks promising though. Props to my son who saw a shot from very early in the trailer and said it looked like District 9.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

I predict it will contain some of the most asinine liberal nonsense I have ever seen. But after watching the trailers I simply don't care. I'll see it day one and likely enjoy it. Looks amazing.

Looks meh will end up making money since it has a budget that didn't go overboard ($90 million).

For the most part movies are a liberal medium and most movies puerly aimed at conservatives bombed.

It looks interesting, I hope it's not non stop action though.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

i enjoy just about anything science fiction.. Story has been done before "unwanted hero of the repressed masses takes on the elite society" kinda like total recall only instead of air its medine and he dies in the end.

havent had the amount of summer movies that ive wanted to see in a long time. Pacific rim now. Probably catch this opening weekend or week after

Probably the first movie i watch this summer. District 9 was amazing.

Its been one of my most anticipated movies of the year due to the hype its gotten among.those who've seen early footage.

My buddy is in film. A fellow filmmaker friend of his (a guy whos actually a somewhat hot ticket/up-and-coming screenwriter in Hollywood currently) saw an early screening of Elysium recently. He said its now one of his favorite films of all time. I was already hyped before, but since hearing him say that, my hype meter is approaching max.

The only problem is that I think they're doing a bad job with the trailers so.far. I know this movie is gonna be awesome, but after both of the trailers I was left ffeeling at least a little underwhelmed.
