Forums - Microsoft Discussion - State of Decay is incredible

Is anyone else playing? I hope it sells well so we get the online co-op added, though idk how real that possibility is.

Anyways I gotta run some errands so taking a break after a 4 hour marathon. Feel like I just barely bit into the game after 4 hours. The survival aspect is truly unmatched in anything I have played in a single player setting. The fact that you are leveling up your character and that if he/she dies then they stay dead and you have to start on someone else, really gives you a connection to the character and a real desire to keep them alive. It makes zombie ambushes and sticky situations all that more tense.

The story is only just now starting to seep in and I think I will enjoy it. There is a lot of potential there, though I read in the IGN review that the ending kind of sucks. But the writing is good and the dialogue seems about as natural as it can be considering the setting. Overall it feels better than most $60 retail titles and it only costs 1600 Allards ($20). So check it out if you love zombie games and want something new. One amazing zombie game for PS3 and one for 360 as well. Good times for zombie fans.

How hard is it to master gun and vehicle control? I know they're not precise and frustrating at first , but I love Crackdown if you know what I mean.

to be honest, i don't really care about story or whatever in that game. i just want to play that for some "stupid" fun.

but no, i didn't buy it yet. btw it has already 15k votes on the american marketplace, i think the game will sell very well for such a high arcade price. as comparison, battleblock theater has 11k votes.

Absolutely blown away by this game. Best zombie game this gen. Its got a lot of depth and I can see this lasting me dozens of hours.

I have mixed feeling on this game so far. Whilst it really is a steal at 1600 MS points considering the amount of content in the game, it failed to get me hooked in the hour or so that I played it (I got to the vets in town if anyone wants to know how far I made it). It also had a few glitches and many, rather horrendous slowdowns.

Does it get better later on? How much so? I'm not sure if I want to put down $20 for the title quite yet.

My only complain is the lack of character creator, I was looking for that.

That being said, the game is indeed incredible. It gives a pretty bad impression at first, especially when FPS or physics don't respond well, but once you got past that...oh man, OH MAN! The freedom! The tension when you're ambushed by a horde! Checking every house, every gas station to gather some snacks and coffee! IT'S JUST AWESOME!

I've never feel so awesome by running down some random road checking the enviroment, seriously.
