So DRM for 3rd party games and online passes for first party games. Got it.

Yeah, Nintendo does not nearly have the required expertise of online to implement some thing like an "online check". (And publishers have on 3DS before but that was a software feature and not a hardware one as in Nintendo's hardware did not have means to do this.)

But I'm actually still confused about whether if this is the "disk-based or "required to be online to play the game" restriction. If disk based, that means that something in the hardware itself blocked used games and means that Sony fully integrated it into the system so it could detect a used disk. If so, shame on them.

Maybe it seems to me like these publishers are shoving there money gobbling noses into an issue that shouldnt be left up to them, hence why there looking worse then Sony and atleast MS in that regard.

Lol E3 is so close there are going to be a lot of funny stuff for me to laugh at. Its always the same old story again and again, Everything Sony does is acceptable. Its up to Sony and Microsoft to convince me which will be my second next gen console to own.

I agree on this spinning stuff negatively.  You'd see the same people post about how the PS4 also has DRM to make the Xbox One look the same, now when someone made the official announcement that what was said in February was true, they're trying to spin it so the Xbox One doesn't look as bad. 

It's like they want the Xbox One to look better than the PS4 so they they're confident that they made the right decision in consoles.  Here's an easy way to fix that though.  If there's more games on a console you're interested in, then get that console, if you want other games, then get that console as well.

So 3rd parties will probably implement some sort of DRM but not 1st party games? At least that's what I got out of this article. Anyway I just hope publishers like Square Enix and Namco don't implement these policies even though I buy all of their games new anyway but still.

The online pass was dumb but it doesn't compare to this new always online checkup, install each and every game fully sh!t. 

You could say or ask the same about some MS guys who embraced the new policy and were acting all "happy" about it. Then later prayed and hoped that Sony did the same just so they wouldnt be alone. Individuals later saying stuff like "well its only fair if Sony does it aswell" and what not..
