Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is 15 exclusive a lot for the first year of a console?

15 enough?

Yes 19 14.39%

No 16 12.12%

Depends on quality 64 48.48%

Depends on third party deals 0 0%

Depends on indies 0 0%

Depends how many Kinect 33 25.00%

Total:132

15 is a pretty big number, so even if you assume 8 of those titles to be indie titles and kinect, you're stil left with a very healthy 7 potential AAA titles for the rest of year 1.
If the AAA titles were spread like this:
2- at launch.
1- Early 2014
1- summertime 2014
3- Fall+ winter 2014

I suspect the X1 has a good year ahead software wise once you incorporate the lessor exclusives kinect and indie, as well as the 3rd part titles. This is all hypothetical though, we need to see what the actual titles are. It could be that 11/15 are shovelware like fruit ninjas for kinect.

You love Flower. But there's people that believes Flower shouldn't exist, as it is a boring game and etc, etc.

Those people don't qualify to be called "people".

Do 1 week timed and dlx esclusives count ?

I agree, though, you gotta lend me your Ps3 one day to play it.

15 exclusives is more than enough, providing that theyre all top quality.

Including Kinect exclusive games, the number will be way higher than 15 btw.

how do you know Kinect games aren't included in that number?  It's included in every box remember so it's as much a part of the system as the main box.

Get Your Portable ID!Lord of Ratchet and Clank

Duke of Playstation Plus

Warden of Platformers

Even if its like 6 AAA retail, 6 XBLA, and 3 Kinect games I would be happy. Lots of variety to go around.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Kinect on the 360 launched with ~12 games. All exclusive, if I remember correctly.

3rd parties will be making Kinect One exclusive games, just like they did for the Kinect. If theyre losing the Kinect exclusives to the PS4 Eye, then it will be a bit of a hit to Microsoft.

I just dont see there only being 15 exclusives throughout the entire Year, when youre launching with a successful peripheral as standard.

i cross referenced this statement against the ps3 launch earlier. ps3 had 31 exclusives in it's first year 13 of which where first/second party.

so while not a huge number it puts it in parity with sony.

then of course remember that you won't like all 15 of those games. there will be something along the lines of sesame street: once upon a monster in terms of good or not,.. you won't care.
