The man should have to take responsibility for the baby since he made the conscious decision to have unprotected sex when he knew the risks.

What if the woman takes the pill and suddenly stops taking them without telling the man?

Well my kid was born March 24 2011 in Illinois. The kids mother took him to Texas without my permission,or knowledge in fact.

I have been in the court system since October 2011 and so far nothing has been accomplished. And Illinois is one of the states known for being pioneers in paternal rights

And now shes trying to get our son adopted by her fiance... which im not worried about

Weird.  In Nevada that's an Imediate "You lose custody".

That's the funny thing.  One guy at my work had full custody of his daughter because she moved to arizona without notifying him or the court.

When if she would of applied to the court... chances are she would of got permission to move.

There are two angles to look at this argument:

Example 1:

1) Fetus is NOT a human
2) Gender Equality

Shouldn't men have the "equality" to choose whether or not they wish to have and support a baby? Women should have the choice to say what to do with their body, and men shouldn't be allowed to force them into anything. However, the man should have the right to pull out of the relationship entirely and the woman to understand that this eventual baby is hers to take care of. There is no gender equality when women have the only say in parenthood.

Example 2:

1) Fetus is a human

This is murder and he should be locked up. Sorry, but sexual intercourse is what makes human life. If you are having sex, you need to realize that there is always a possibility of creating a human (even if you pull out. Even if you wear a condom. Even if she is on the pill). When you decide to have sex, you are making a conscious decision and you have to bear the responsibility of your actions. Grow the fuck up.

On a side note, I will just throw it out there that I believe all men should be castrated as babies and that the "ability to create human life" should be given back at an adult age when the man is proven to be healthy and can provide for a baby. There's simply no way to control people's behaviors and there will always be accidents and tragedies with pregnancies. That's why instead of trying to change people, we have to restrict the idiocy of their action's results.

Well, I have a trial date in very early June. She hasn't shown to any of the previous hearings so we shall see (It's absolutly fucking ridiculous how long it's been taking). I'm not seeking custody. I am a full time student at the University so I'm looking for visitation (having her forced back) but this will be documented for if I ask for custody after I graduate.

Precisely why abortion should be limited to health issues and possibly rape (early on.) To those who say the man should take responsibility for his actions, the same logic should be applied to women who abort because they don't think they're ready to raise a child as well. Otherwise, the man should have the freedom to choose not to support the child. Nevertheless, the right to life is a natural one, and consequently unique living organisms which will proceed in the process of development are created upon conception. Unless another person's right to life is being threatened there should be no abridgment of the child's right to life, hence the viewpoint that one cannot kill in order to preserve their right to liberty when there was no aggression instituted by the human organism one chooses to kill.

Your post was for the most part interesting and reasonable until I got up to that last paragraph. If that is truly your stance then I am shocked beyond words.

Part of what makes us men is the transformation we undergo during puberty. If you take that away we might as well just be portable sperm banks and or drones. That line of thinking I would expect more from femenist extremists to be honest.

What a bastard, if he didn't want a kid yet then don't have sex! Don't trick your girl into having an abortion, especially if she don't want that. The women gives birth, so it's exclusively their choice if they want an abortion or not

I agree with you that it's the woman's choice to have the child or not. But what of the father? Should he get the choice of "financial abortion"?

What is "financial abortion"? I have never heard of it

Meaning that a father can decide early on that he doesn't have to pay child support.

While what the person did in this story is wrong it beg's the question of responsibility.

If one person make's a choice about keeping a child or not then one other person should not have to bear the consequenses of the decision.

If a man says he want's to have nothing to do with the child before it's born he should not be forced to pay to support a child he did not choose.

Sure the child should be supported but by everyone not just one guy. Choice should go both ways.

How can it be fair to both genders when only one can continue the human race? Personally, i think people should plan these things, so the parents will be mature enough and this sort of thing that the thread talking about won't happen so much. I don't see how a man could be like that, if i had the chance to be a father i wouldn't decide to force her to get an abortion. I couldn't do that, i feel abortion is wrong but it's a choice some people must make. It's not a big enough issue to affect society and it's something people shouldn't take so seriously. Why focus so much on abortion when there is so much else that is wrong with society and government?
