(IMO) Why do you think Avatar is #1? That movie pretty much promoted everybody to watch it in 3D in theatres.

Box Office Mojo is doing a horrible job with the Chinese numbers for Iron Man 3 the have it at $21 million and according to this article:

It's already at $64 million.

Yeah I hate the fact that they bump the prices for 3D. The Dark Knight Rises would have had a bigger opening weekend if it had 3D and if it wasn't for the shooting =/. Chris Nolan isn't a 3D whore =P

I'm not sure if it'll beat the Avengers, but I know I enjoyed it more. I hope it'll beat the Avengers but I find that today's day and age doesn't reward in the box office sales movies I consider good.

LOL it will most likely be past 850 million by next Monday already.  It will easily double what it made so far which is $680 million.


Haha I should have fixed my estimate, bearing in mind of how well it's doing ill say 1.2/1.3 billion 

It did a lot better then I thought its at $949 million now but since box office mojo is not so good with tracking all the overseas numbers its really past a billion already.

I think that The Avengers did it just as fast but by the time it stop running I'm thinking Iron Man will make more money then The Avengers did overseas especially since it will make over $100 million in China.  It will not come near The Avengers numbers domestically though it will probably run out of steam once it passed the $450 million dollar mark.

I don't think Iron Man 3 will do better because the Avenger had a stronger opening domestically. It's also had much better legs, Iron Man 3 dropped pretty quickly. I think Iron Man 3 will end up at around 1.4 billion.

Defanatley has done a lot better then I expected, and yeah it has definitely passed a billion very impressive and I admit I was very wrong with my first estimates

It's doing a lot better overseas box office mojo has it undertracked by at least $60 million dollars.  They still only have it at $21 million in China  and I already pointed out earlier that is way off by now it probably already passed the $80 million mark there.  Those added scenes for the Chinese market really paid off.  The next X-Men movie should do well over there also since it will feautre the same actress that are in the added scenes in Iron Man 3, Fan Bingbing.

Iron Man is the most popular Marvel movie franchise even though Iron Man is a second tier character.I think It will fall just shy of Avengers sales though. 1.35 Billion worldwide is my first guess. If it get past that it does have a chance to beat Avengers.
