You could just make bigger and longer games. Then again they already do.

I said it before but I hope PS4 and NeXbox blocks used games.  As long as they both make the commitement together their shouldnt be a backlash from the community.  Sony has been shady about the situation and Microsoft hasn't said anything yet but I'm hoping if one does it the other does it as well or it will be useless.  I'd like them to be 100% honest about the situation.

There will be a MAJOR backlash if both PS4 and 720 block used games. Not from me, however. I will simply be sitting back enjoying my games on 360/Wii U/PC while everybody goes nuts about Sony and MS's newest consoles blocking used games.

People will get annoyed but they will buy it anyways.  The industry is going to go through a change now or later so you might as well get use to it and shut up about it.  I hate the meme #JustDealWithIt but yes just deal with it.  People will moan and groan but when games like Halo 5, Battlefield 4, Gran Turismo 6, etc, etc  comes out people will buy them because they must have them.  The only people that will throw tantrums are the people on forums and they will move on like they always do.

Um what about Nintendo?

They have already chosen to keep used sales with the WiiU.

Exactly. At most only 2/3 will be blocking used games. I don't think that is enough to get people to accept it. Also this could really boost Wii U sales.

I doubt it.  3rd party sells more on Sony and Microsoft platforms.  And with many 3rd parties ignoring nintendo completely, it won't have much of effect on Sony and Microsoft.  Nintendo's biggest thread is their 1st party games, not 3rd party.  Where as both Sony and Microsoft heavily relies on 3rd parties and then support it with their 1st party games.

Time for another crash...if the industry can no longer sustain itself with used games around, banning used games will only push the inevitable fate a few years into the future...at best.

I will absolutely deal with it, buy not buying them. If it means I have to give up gaming, so be it. Plenty of other things I can do in my life. But I will never buy a console that blocks used games, and if all of my console options end up blocking them, then I guess I have to find a new hobby, or I'll stick with retro gaming.

Fine.  millions of others won't care so really your opinion or option means nothing to the industry

Funny, I keep hearing one user that says Sony and MS and listening closely to what 3rd parties are demanding. I guess they are going to implement this as well according to that user logic.

I wish they found game breaking bugs a concern.

Far too much work for Bethesda.

I don't think it's really a concern for Nintendo because they have such long legs and their games (used or unused) never really drop in price. Seriously, how they hell do they manage that?

It is a problem for shorter games like shooters and very front-loaded games.

Fine... next game instead of buying it second hand i'll pirate it.. you win Bethesda

uhm.. I'm not sure what triggered these responses, as the quotes in the op seem pretty reasonable, although I have to admit that I didn't read the whole interview

gamebreaking bugs that they never fix or take 3 months to fix , they dont give a fuck.

i am talking about bethesda the devs that made skyrim

Taking three months to fix it is don't giving a fuck?

The way I see it is that you can agree they put effort in it to fix the bugs or you can hate them for not fixing everything.

Anyway this discussion is so old,  the games entertainment market is one of the few forms of entertainment that hardly were any more expensive for consumers. In some generations games were even more expensive. While making games has become ten times or more expensive and that costed the many closures of video game companies.  Bethesda did very well but they know that their fans want that TES VI becomes even bigger! It will cost them;  Buy the game new and you can play the full game? Buy it used and you can only play 80% of it (or you need to buy an unlock key digitally)?   That could work I guess and I would not have a problem with it.

How will game collecting evolve without used games?
