Forums - Sales Discussion - USA Pre-Order 6th april Chart

Tales of Xillia chartz!!!! hopefully it can reach atleast and 100K FW!!!

Around the Network

That Walking Dead TV spot seemed to have done the trick.

Sony marketing team for the first time this gen are doing what they should have been doing 6 years ago. TLOS should have the biggest opening week this gen for a new IP.

Oh, so Fuse Overstrike added 18k pre-orders this week?  Oh yeah?  Uh-huh?

(OLOLOL THIS GIF AGAIN)

Nah, who am I kidding.  This is the only chart they ever update on time, of course I'm gonna check it every week!

But really, it seems to be getting worse and worse as time goes on.  And it was bad to begin with.

Regardless, my thoughts:

Nice for TLOU.  Xillia & Soul Sacrifice is pleasing, even if they're both at the lower end.  I hope these numbers will be moderately correct for SS.  I'm not really expecting more than 100k LT in the USA.

And Battlefield is lighting the chart up at the bottom.  But it has literally been EVERYWHERE I CLICK on the internet these past few weeks.

Looks like Battlefield 4 is going to be top 10 very quickly.

This will be slayed by The Last of Us. Naughty Dog vs. Insomniac. Sad to see.

Right in the childhood, quite literally.

You know, it's funny.  Throughout the fifth and sixth generations I wouldn't hear a bad word about Insomniac and I thought they were miles ahead of Naughty Dog as developers.

But I'm struggling to come up with any hype at all for Fuse, compared to the tonnes of it I'm feeling for TLoU at the moment.  How times change.

Poor Insomniac.  I hope they find their groove again.

Does Last of us have a LE bundle or anything? Would really help PS3 sales in all regions imo.

In defense of Insomniac, despite it's unisnpired approach, if FUSE was PS3 exclusive (or PS4), it would have MUCH more hype and attention paid to it. I, personally, wish them the best with their first multiplat title.

In terms of general around-the-internet hype?  I suppose.  My own personal hype is as low as it was when they announced Resistance.  I didn't want a grey-brown FPS from them and I equally don't want a focus-tested TPS from them.  Regardless of exclusivity or not.

The Ratchet future trilogy has been their highlight this gen and showed me that there is still magic at Insomniac; but they seem to be squandering that with every non-Ratchet opportunity they get.  And they even managed to make two of their Ratchet games sub-par.

I'll buy Fuse and of course I wish them all the best, I just don't personally feel like I can continue to support the direction they are headed for much longer.

I agree it would have more hype. And it seems like I'm always the first to bring it up (see last weeks preorder and Fuse = Haze thread) even though I believe it would do bad I'm still interested in the title. I wont pick it up day one though because i think it will enter bargain bins pretty quick. If it were Ps3 exclusive though I would pick it up quicker. Not because its an exclusive but because I honestly think it would be a different game. I have a feeling EA has something to do with Insomniacs developing decisions

Cant trust those numbers anymore... But lets do sum math.

Soul Sacrifice with 21k preorders, +3.5k this week(60% up from last wiak). If next week it get +30% preorders, will be 4.5k three weeks until releas. And another +30% twu weeks until release, 5.9k, and +40% on last wek, 8.2k for last wek until relese. We ould get da gran totale of 39,6k preorders.

If dose preorders numbers are right, Soul Sacrifice will get a higher first week than Monster Hunter Ultimate on Wii U and probably higher then 3DS version too, dat would be very good for dat gmae style on west and a new IP.

What's wrong with that? That would mean that week 1 sales could be anywhere from 60-80k, which is a bit less then Japan.

Soul Sacrifice is a new IP published by Sony, and the first good Japanese game on the PSV which isn't a port.

Monster Hunter Ultimate is a remake of a 2 year old game, which is releasing on two platforms to people who probably own the original Monster Hunter 3 game.

P.S. I fixed Naughty Dog 2, there is no such game. There was a PSN/LXB sequel which released last year though.

P.P.S. YAY Tales of Xillia tracked! I hope it stays, Battlefield 4 for PS3 will track next week, but Naughty Dog 2 is out.
