Forums - Microsoft Discussion - What XBox exclusives would causes you to stick with Microsoft if they only have always on and block used games?

I would be more worried about 3rd party games and not Microsoft first party ones being online only.

You wanna have your opinion, then you have to respect different opinions as well.

Yes. Steam has an "Offline mode".

so if Steam doesn't even make it mandatory then why would M$ try?

like why would they remove the ability to play OUR game offline?

like what is so bad about that to make them try to enforce a rule for gamers to NOT be able to play a game on the console offline?

they're just trying to slowly ease this new "monitored society" sh!t into our lives piece by piece

the digital age is the age where we lose our privacy. I understood that the digital age is the age where EVERYTHING we do will be monitored but I just thought it was going to be with those microchips that are being made. Stuff like the american dollar is being driven into the ground and soon digital money on these microchips will be our only way of currency. I didn't know that they were going to go ALL THE WAY with the monitoring/privacy thing. like damn we cant even play a damn game without being monitored

they can atleast save that sh!t for the 9th gen of consoles

if these rumors have any truth to it, i have hopes that M$ will have dropped this irrelevant ass feature before the 720 reveal

It would take more than always online or blocked used games to keep me away from Halo. Even if all I use the Nextbox for is Halo 5, 6, and some spin offs It's still worth it.

But the rumors are false so it doesn't matter. Nobody shoots themselves in the foot on purpose.

There's nothing really (don't like gears of war or Forza and Halo isn't enough to justify it.) It's a just a matter of opinion but Microsoft's franchises don't really appeal to me. I much prefer Sony's and Nintendo's franchises.

Yeah but Halo is just a logo. What if all the people made the game are gone and replaced ?

For example, Diablo 3 creators have absolutely NOTHING in common with the people that made Diablo 2.

Wow some Xboxs users are actually accepting this horse shit! They are actually trying to rationalize it, but oh well they do pay for playing online after all, they already let Microsoft get away with that one just to play Halo.

It's a free market, people do have the choice to buy it or not, regardless of what you think personally.

I own every Halo game on console and Halo 1&2 on the PC, I love my Sci-Fi so that's all that it will take for me to pick up the new machine.

Besides, my PC is online 24/7 with several hundred Steam games, even though I can set Steam to offline mode, how often have I done that? Never? Damn right.
In-fact my Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are always connected too, just for the updates, exclusives and multiplayer with my poor PC-less brother, which over time I've bought all his Xbox games anyway.

What I'm *really* on the fence about is the Playstation 4, my Playstation 3 was connected for the updates and to play Blu-rays, nothing else, seems like a waste upgrading that console just to play back movies, but it was the best bluray player money could buy "back in the day", even if Sony lost money out that transaction and never made it back.

You are right this is a free market and consumers vote with their wallets but even if you don't have a problem with always online gaming and DRM you should see that it is wrong for gaming in general. Come to our side brother.

Bungie started Halo and 343i took over and made Halo 4. As it turns out Halo 4 is the best one. What does it matter who makes a game if it's the best of the best. So long as it is of the highest quality and feels like Halo I will be there day one. Nothing even comes close to Halo.

You're just enthusiastic about the game.  And I don't actually care that metascore, user score and sales dissagree with you.

What I am telling you is; there is no guarantee. There are not enough people like Kojima or Cliff B in the gaming industry to go around.

I dunno...the only ones that matter...like Gears and Halo. I mean Microsoft will be lucky to get Gears next gen because they are so halting development of other games right now. Outside of that they have no shot until they change peoples minds at E3.
